With prison buses, if the driver and escort are in the front it's empty. If only driver visible and escort in rear it has prisoners. The escort has to remain in rear with inmates whilst in transit. Just a heads up bit of info 😉

You could well have been there for an arranged visit, delivering a document or a maintenance task. It is accessible to the public at the material time.

Im not an auditor or do i want to test boundaries but i like to take many pictures all over the place when i feel like it and especially old architecture when i travel. This place would be like a magnet to me and i would absolutely want to photograph the building purely from an architectural interest viewpoint. Because i don't want any trouble i would probably move if confronted like this but it would annoy me. This kind of thing gives me more encouragement to stand my ground a bit however.

I've taken video & photo of Lewes Prison from a helicopter i was up in once. Lewes Prison, just up the road from where i live, Hove. Not got a very good reputation. Victorian building & falling apart in places!
