Szczera ocena i o to chodzi!

Let's clear one misunderstanding: Poland also has four seasons and we are very proud of it. From our Polish perspective, there are only three seasons in Japan: there is no winter! We just understand the four seasons a little differently. Your observations about Polish winter are correct: it starts in November and ends at the end of March. It is dark and damp. Depressive. Sometimes the sky can be cloudless but then the temperature drops to minus thirty degrees. You were lucky because there had been no such winters in the last few years. Why, from our perspective, there is no winter in Japan? Look at how you walk around dressed: you wear unbuttoned jackets and nobody wears hats. Just like we do in autumn. Spring starts in April (Kwiecień, kwitnąć - to blossom) and its symbol is not sakuras as in Japan - sakuras in Poland bloom at the very end of spring - but snowdrops, crocuses and blossoming plums. I am afraid that plums in Poland and Japan are not exactly the same. In Japan, plums can bloom in January and no one pays attention to them. The equivalent of hanami in Poland was Majówka (picnic). Long ago it used to be obligatory under blossoming apple trees - Poland is a country of blossoming apple trees - but with one very important difference: flowers were not admired here, the most important thing was eating and drinking under fresh greenery. That's why today it's still done in May (May Day - Majówka) but it's usually just called a „grill” (barbecue). You have described summer very well. And finally autumn. Your Kōyō is red and lasts a very long time, until the end of December, our „Polska Złota Jesień” (Poland Golden Autumn) is yellow, golden and lasts only through October. Sometimes only two weeks. Although its symptoms can be seen from August to November. November (Listopad - literally fall of leaves) - leaves fall and all the trees become bare. The lawns also become bare, the ground itself is left - in your area in Japan there is quite a lot of greenery throughout all the winter. Sorry for writing so much, regards.

Thank you for your opinions. But I think it’s obvious that Japan has winter, there’s snow everywhere. And people go see Sakura in Japan. That means Japan is known for it. Come to Japan! You’d probably learn more👍

This is weird, judging by your choice of username I think you are interested in Japan at least a bit. Even Polish people who aren't interested at all often know that Japan has winter as they host ski jumping competitions in Sapporo, Hokkaido

Hello. As a Polish woman who can speak Japanese I think, when it comes to safety, Poland wins. There were numerous times in Japan when men reached out to me out of the blue while I was walking and they did it in rude ways e.g. asking for s*x or asking out. I assume it was because as white woman I stand out from Japanese. I sometimes pretend to DO NOT know Japanese because of that. I didn't mean to sound rude, Japan is wonderful country and I love it for various things but from a female perspective I would say Poland is safer. At least for women. I enjoyed your videos and glad you had fun in Poland. Wish you luck. ケンさんはポーランドに楽しい時間を過ごして嬉しいです。これからも応援しています(^^)

@nyankoi Unfortunately, I cannot agree that women are safe in Poland. In Japan they ask or please for sex, and in Poland they don't even ask ... But the fact is, during the day, in a place where there are a lot of people, such situations do not happen.

i can add one advantage of living in Japan - there are mountains everywhere! I'm into road cycling and i love riding in mountains. In Poland i have to take at least few days trip from Warsaw to northern regions, while in Japan i leave Tokyo and there are mountains already :). And also the quality of roads is better.

Total true about mountains. I would also add that there is ocean near them :). In a way from Kyushu to Hiroshima about 20-30km from the city there are islands with mountains. It's beautiful. It's totally true that landscape is very good in terms of slopes, but I can't agree that Poland have worse roads then Japan. Both are good, but if you don't want to use car roads then Polish bicycle roads are superior in almost every way. To be honest it seams that Japan may have less specialize roads then Poland. Japan have better solution for sidewalks on which you can ride your bicycle, they are using asphalt or concrete, but there is very very bad solution in terms of kerb. Sidewalk is on the same level as road only kerb is elevated. If you want to cross the road even on the zebra you will need to be very careful to not jump on them or damage your wheal. I am not recommending sidewalks at all in any country. It's not safe, road is better, on that I think both countries are OK. If you will go on village roads you can encounter landslides etc.. In Poland I didn't encounter them, but it's land difference. In Kento region so, from Kobe, Osaka to Kyoto there is wonderful infrastructure, both for cars, trains and bicycles. Osaka Kyoto you can cross on bicycle almost without stop. It's very good, but it's not everywhere. Of if it's not needed then there is no need for building them so. In Japan there may be different system for bicycles, so in Fukuoka, Tokyo, Sendai, Sapporo(don't remember) there are markings on roads, so bicycles have their own road lane. That I like, I would prefer this concept, because it seams to be safer for both parties. There is small example of this in Kraków near Orzeszkowej MPK station. I would also like to point that I've seen in Japan that if there is railway/road elevation/embankment then on the lower lever there are tunnels for other traffic. Just adding, I would not recommend main roads for bicycling, even if there is secondary road (I think most of them have one). They are just boring, not a lot to see. On the south of Japan I've seen a lot of road infrastructure, but it seams it was build in 80s-90s and some is in bad shape. Also Polish country(villages) seams to be better looking, looks like people want their houses and roads to look better then others. TLDR: Mountains yes 10/10. Roads maybe? Not really? Both are OK, different solution to the same problem. Both countries have good roads, some roads are bad most are good.

In Poland on Sundays shops are closed but you can go to restaurants, pubs, leisure centers, aqua parks, museums, cinemas etc. Poles love dining at home, visiting each other, spending time together, barbecue, hiking and cycling in nature. Sunday is also a holy day to go to church and pray. It is a spiritual renewal. If you are interested in Polish culture study christianity and New Testament, it will help you understand. It is a base of European culture.

Pozdrawiam,

Sounds like you'd rather go back to Japan xD Poland is a very depressing country, we have a lot of problems and our country does not look like we would like it to be(you know politics and stuff like that, that really does not help our situation right now) - speaking as a Pole myself. I love Japanese culture, history and technology. I would love to live in Japan, but I think I will wait till Japan's thinking of foreigners will change, cause I would rather not live in a country where I would be treated like a tourist all the time xD. Maybe someday Japan will open up more to foreigners. Poland-Japan friendship!

As in safety that depends if you're not in Warsaw and you're not a woman walking at night in sketchy parts of town then yea it's relatively safe. But even then you can be bothered by guys in tracksuits (dresiarze) and it can be problematic because if they're drunk then well you can have some troubles (Maybe that's slightly a stereotypical picture but it's easier to give it as a example, because they're drunk guys from poor families that are abusing alcohol and have pathologic roots)
