Um no. Most people I know would stand to the side, regardless of where they came from.

LMAO. I feel seen. I understand the love for Matsuya. I'm from Southeast Asia and am used to my food being flavored strongly. When living in Japan, most food were seasoned lightly with a focus on their natural taste. While living there, Matsuya was one of the few places that really satisfied my tastebuds. That said, I think cold soba is the best Japanese dish there is. Paired with a bit of tempura and I'm more than good.

Esemple being directed in a rude way vs being directed in a polite manner 1)Being directed in a rude way: "I don't care if you're tired, but you have to work, I don't want to hear any fuss!!!" 2)Be direct, in a polite manner: "You're tired but I need you to stay and work to take care of some paperwork."

Is this being rude? 😂😂This is being direct. If all the direct people are rude, I salute you!!!🤚 Being rude is another thing.... As Totò said: "Do me pleasure(in this sense to express disappointment, irritation, opposition)!!!!🤌= what are you saying?? But where??😳🤨😵‍💫😂😮

Parody: how to avoid working more than necessary Boss: You seem tired today, we'll have to review the data we discussed together! Employee: Ok, but it will take more time. Boss: Ok, then let's keep working! Employee: Sure, but it would be better to pay overtime first!! Boss: Don't worry, I'll pay you later! Employee: Okay, but first I have to make a phone call. Boss: Okay, hurry up. Employee calls on his cell phone and then passes it to his boss. Boss: What are you doing?? Employee: You can tell my lawyer directly, see what he thinks... Boss: Ok, see you tomorrow! In the mind of the boss (wretch!!), in the mind of the employee (asshole!!!)🤪

Boss:You got a promotion today! Employee: Why? Boss: For your commitment, and for the growth of this company! Employee: Thanks, but I didn't ask for any promotion! Boss: But it's in your interest, and in the company's interest. You deserved it! Congratulations!!! Employee: Thank you, but I decline the tempting offer! Boss: Are you sure? It's an opportunity that won't happen to you.... It depends: but I'm not a thief and I don't steal opportunities meant for others. Boss (annoyed): Ok, whatever you want!! Boss leaves the office. Work colleague: why did you turn down this opportunity? You could have earned more, you would have had a responsible position.... Employee: It's the same script every time, when they want to give the promotion, the rule is refuse, always and anyway. Work colleague: But why do you say that?? Employee: they don't hire other staff, they give you this promotion only to make you work harder and earn the same salary you had as an employee. Dispassionate advice, only do what is necessary, don't overdo it, otherwise they will take advantage of it.

A: You look tired, I can tell you've been working. If you feel up to it, would you like us to check the data we discussed together?? B: Thanks, yes I'm really tired, what do you think, if we check them together tomorrow?? Now it's too late, and we need to be rested to work better! A: You're right, when you're rested you work better and are more energetic and productive! Ok. See you tomorrow. Rest, you need it.😉

So word fot word translation without adjusting for meaning? This is actually kinda cool. I guess they see leaving (even if its so someone can work without distraction) as being rude?

But this is part of the meaning that we often forget. The etymology of words also shapes our minds.

I always preferred to translate like this and always got yelled at because translation apparently has to find the culturally equivalent expressions to make it smooth to readers but honestly it loses a lot of personality but i can see sometimes people do not want to be confused they just want the darn translation...
