Chris Challans - you don’t use foil when roasting. Roasting is basically cooking at higher heat uncovered at 400 degrees or so... makes it nice and brown and crisp...Baking you would cover and use 325 to 375 degrees.

As an actual professional smith I can't resist making two comments: First the number and variety of techniques you used effectively are impressive. The other side of the coin: you killed a huge amount of time by not using heat....until you did. Fun video!! Definitely a great teaching exercise I'm gonna throw at students! Just for those who want to try without smelting a combination of heating and LIGHT hammering may work, I havent forged aluminum, because it is best worked in other ways. However, most metals will bond to themselves and some others with a mixture of heat and pressure. Mokume Gane in various grades of aluminum might be done this way and look incredible if etched well.

I like how he said everyone else wasn't "doing it right" fails at what he tried, and then cheated. Every single channel on KZfaq that polished an aluminum foil ball, did it right and did it better.

Why even watch then if your just going to complain. How is it cheating if there aren’t any rules?
@shelby8386
@shelby8386 4 жыл бұрын
Deagan Warheit Well he did admit that he was cheating and the challenge isn’t to polish a cast sphere made from tinfoil but to polish a ball of slightly compacted tinfoil. Why reply to my comment if you don’t like it? Why put a comment section on KZfaq videos? Why create a website to share ideas and entertainment? Maybe the best question is what the fuck are you going to do about it?

@@shelby8386 I'm replying to you, because you sound like an edgy teen or twenty year old. Not gonna do anything about it. And it's your choice given that you have access to a form of expression. Though I dare say, being angry because someone else did something in a way you didnt like is rather hilarious. In that it makes you a joke. Even if he claimed to have done the challenge without cheating, and he did not, being angry because he did would make me think your emotions come from nowhere substantial. And to me, that makes you a joke. I wont reply more, I just hope you think about what it takes to make you angry. Oh and dont pull "I wasnt angry, you dont have definitive proof!", it's the internet and your name mixed with the "what are you gonna do about it" is enough.

@@ragingfragger5471 Did you come up with all of that on your own? Dam I can't say I wasn't angry?! Well fuck, what am I supposed to say then, I mean it's what you wanted me to say right? Used to do the same with the fold that came in cigarette packs back in the day. That's where the original idea came from...You actually started with making a small ball then adding to it as you smoked more. The cigarette foil was also much thinner than tin foil, almost gold leaf thin.
