Ed's line about the Glasgow Chocolate factory is a bit a bit mean because it a scam directly targeted at people who have a low intelligence and low educational level. The spelling mistakes on the website are a deliberate ploy to filter out the kind of educated, intelligent people who may have the social capital and confidence to make things difficult for the scammers. The same ploy, deliberate misspellings as a filter, is used in Nigerian Prince email scams.
@azena.5 ай бұрын
Can I just say, this has been such an informative comment! I always wondered why those emails and what nots didn't go through even the most basic spell checker. Thank you for explaining it, I've learnt a lot from your comment.
@danishih5 ай бұрын
Agreed. I've lived in Glasgow and they're fucking thick as pigshit. Anywhere else they'd have been laughed out of town, but those sneaky scammers chose the only place in the entire country that people would be stupid enough to fall for such an obvious scam. Shame on them!

I am finding Ava's criticism of the SNP rather strange. I get her point about being frustrated about the lack of action regarding Gaza, but that's hardly the SNP's fault. I'd thought it was pretty obvious that what the Speaker and Starmer and the Conservative Party, tbh, have done is obfuscate and distract and do everything in their power to do nothing while looking like they're doing something. There was no reason at all for either party to table amendments for what is a pretty simple statement bill. There have been plenty of days Labour could have raised their own bill in their own opposition days. The Tories are the government and could do this anytime they want. As I said, I feel the rage and frustration, but directing it purely at the SNP who are the party that were trying and got royally shafted on all sides seems misplaced to me.

In 2015 I bought a big house in Brighton and was getting it renovated at much expense and sometimes I would have to get out of the place to escape the builders and upheaval and I would book into the Royal Albion Hotel for a few nights. Its the worlds shitest hotel but at the same time brilliant. It has a great bar overlooking the Palace Pier that had a Happy Hour, the construction workers who were building the I 360 were all staying there, Mo, the Manager was a great guy and Ava worked there on reception. At the weekends the place would be full of pensioners shipped in on coaches for cheap weekends and fed the worst food ever eaten. It was a mad house. I can however attest that Ava is a trouper and a great girl

It's also instructive as a 58 yr old Brit who has lived in Asia for decades to hear from "the younger generation" in today's UK. Re islam, have any of these people who say awful ignorant things about muslims ever spent any time in the world's largest majority muslim country, Indonesia, or lived for three years in a technically secular but in reality majority muslim country, Malaysia, as I have? That pmq was just awful! This continuous debate about antisemitism is just dreadful, the problem is nobody or very few people are shouting out about the difference between Antisemitism and Zionism! & and as long as that debate continues on that politically shallow trajectory , Israel will feel they have the Right to continue to inflict genocide on the Palestinian people, while we argue the difference and to hear the the English Parliament arguing in that way is just disgraceful while there are people being massacred in Gaza!
