I bought one of these on closeout as well, had to wait a while to put it into service. When I did, the range, clarity, performance per watt is frankly amazing. One of the best buys I have made in the modern era. Replaced an Infinity CC-3, which, after 24 years is still no slouch; I will miss it.

Really excited to see how your upgrades go! I recently upgraded to the Polk RTiA series all around & am quite pleased! Still saving up for a sub though as I wasn't impressed with Polk's offerings in that department.

Ok so I bought this about 3 weeks ago for 250 on FB. I have a small room and notice the dialogue was a little bass heavy. I work as a music engineer and it was bothering me. What I did was took the plastic part off the back ports and plugged them with my svs port plugs. Went to my recievers equalizer and took 2db off 500hz. Now this is an end game center channel. I will never trade or sell this speaker!!! Sounds amazing now in my small room. I never get ear fatigue watching movie and dialogue is very clear and not thin.

Got mine in Cherry today and it really kind of works in between two 707 dark towers. Main thing is it sounds incredible with dialogue.Never heard voices sound so clean and distinct.Cant imagine what this will sound like after 50 hours break in. So glad I bought this no matter what the color.. Your reviews have moved me way over the top in the audio game.

What do you use for Atmos speakers?

Love your audio setup, you did what you could with the type of room and the chimney. But I recommend a drop down projector screen with audio pass-through. Tvs on top of chimneys don't look sexy. I'm guessing you aren't using the fireplace or hot temps can ruin your center. Maybe remove it and make a flat wall.

You might want to check the spec of your receiver. The watts per channel is for two channels driven. Nice speakers

I just found out I got shut out on the 706 in dark color.I was able to switch over to the cherry color so im going to have a very interesting color scheme with fronts in dark and center in Cherry but at least I get the 706 before all are gone. This might actually look pretty cool.

Could you tell me what crossover you have set your 706 at and your 707 or are you running them as large? Im still experimenting with my 707s but for me it seems setting them as small with a 60HZ crossover works best(for now).

I know its been over 2 years since you made this video, but I was curious if I could pick your brain on what your experience has been with it? My LCR are Polk RtiA9's and a CsiA6 center. Been thinking of upgrading, but I wanted to stick in the polk lineup if possible. I'm just wondering if the upgrade to this over my A6 is worth the hassle of tracking one of these down, especially since getting a hold of one is getting harder and harder.

I imagine you'd get quite a lot of resonance being so close to the wall. How did it work out? I have mine in a cabinet but they are a few feet off the wall

I have a very similar older Polk Audio center speaker that I actually never used. been sitting in my basement for almost 20 years. Polk CS400 center speaker. (this speaker is heavy) I wonder if it can be converted to a subwoofer. don't know if its a crazy idea. but good quality speakers today are not cheap. you were lucky with 73% off. I don't remember what I paid for this one. but I know it was expensive at that time.

What towers are you running. Can I mix 4ohm Polk center with 8ohm Klipsch towers?

Im on the fence about buying one of these after dropping cash on the 707.Now that you have used it for some time how necessary do you feel this speaker is as a center if you are using the 707 as fronts?Im currently using a small Bower and Wilkins center that was installed under my tv.i would have to change everything around to bring in the 706 so I'm hesitant. thanks

Yeah you did good...i had to send back two 707s back.0ne came missing a base n grill , the replacement came and it was the wrong color .I love the speakers but the company needs to check out there equipment better before you ship the stuff out.

Have you ever tried placing these upside down so the tweeter is more at ear level? Do you think that upside down setup might cause issues with sound ? Thanks

I have some front-ported studio monitors.... never could warm up to them. Plus, they look brutally ugly. You are basically staring at one or a pair of holes on the front of them. Yuck! Regarding SEALED design speakers -- you are aware of their major disadvantages and shortcomings, right?

Noticed the finish. It is basically glossy piano black, especially the front. It is gleaming at you whether you want that or not. The worst finish imaginable for any audio gear that would be placed so close to a TV or PJ screen. All the lights from the TV and PJ screen will forever be bouncing off it it. I would reed to wrap this think in "Black Hole Black" wrap.

10:34 "I flipped it over the right way." Nope, it seems like you have it upside down (with the HF tweeter on the bottom). All the way though. Tweeter on bottom, mid-range MF driver on top. Which is why you had to use the discs to raise the rear feet. If you had it right-side-up, you wouldn't have had to. You are right about the oval company logo in the screen, horrid. Now way to remove it? Bad.
