Found a used pair of R100 locally and I’m delighted. These things sound excellent with a good subwoofer. I’ve had about 100 different pairs of speakers over the years. The Reserve line is absolutely no joke. Great value.

I think the process of dialing in a sub is educational in and of itself. The music you love takes on a different character. Like the band changed their attitude since the last time they played. The music changes and teaches you something.

Good job Polk! 👍🏻 I was happy with the barrage of videos on the new Reference line. The more material the better. I hope Polk does well with this series. I think it’s a great bang for buck speaker with good quality drivers for the price. I think these would be a great candidate for a GR Research high qualityparts Crosover upgrade. 👍🏻

An album that I really enjoy in the complete that also has really good bass texture is J.D. Souther’s Black Rose. Check it out. Now for bass power, most any Led Zeppelin track but my favorite is Achilles Last Stand. That gives me chills every time

Hey randy! How would you compare them with the Jamo concerts? I know they are a different sound signature. Just trying to figure out a front stage for a home theater. Jamos are great for the price and I like the clarity factor for dialogue. But don’t want to miss out on the polks. Jamos are already waf certified lol

I think Randy needs a pair of Magnepan LRS, if he hasn’t experienced them already. On a separate topic, I’ve had a pair of custom IEM tips delivered from ADV-Sound for my Fiio FH-7. Definitely worth a shot if you plan to keep those Meze IEM.

Loved this 'with Ron and Randy' podcast. Part of Polk's bad rap is they're the "big corporate machine' everyone loves to hate. They make speakers accessible for low budget, users - then people base their opinion on Polk's low budget speakers, and transfer that opinion into Polk's higher end speakers. That happened with the LSi Series... I've been using a pair of LSi15 speakers for the last 16 years. I've never felt the need to upgrade. They're very 'sweet' sounding, and there seems to be a bit of roll off at the high end - very little sparkle. Beautiful mids and tight low-end, though not a lot of clarity. But it's a just a good sweet soothing smooth sounding speaker I appreciate. When we put in our new home theater, I went with the Revel Concerta2 M16 stand mount. They're a different beast. Much more detail, clarity and texture. And they have a bit of a bass bump. I liked these these little speakers out of the box, all by their onesies. But once I paired them up with the REL HT1003... (needed for movies as well as music) ...they're on a whole new level of fantastic. ...And that brings me to a comment you brought up: How much you enjoy the journey of tuning a sub to your system. I'm going through this right now, and just love finding that sweet spot. After a couple of days of listening to music and movies, I'm very close... theyCan't wait for this review.

Would you know please which Polk tower in the Reserve series would accommodate my listening in a 18' L x 12.5' W x 9' H listening area R500, R600. I've watched ZF's and other videos and nobody seems to mention that topic. My amp is a Belles "Aria" Integrated that seems more powerful than it's 75 WPC rating. My listening prefs are Blues, Jazz and Classical.

I'm looking to replace my lsim with the reserves. I do movies only and I've read and watched some reviews they all say they're really good as surround sound.

Could you all give me your thoughts on the Polk R600 vs Wharfedale Diamond 12.4? I'm looking for warmer and less fatiguing than my current Paradigm Studio v.3 40's. Brick and mortar hearing just isn't a thing anymore so i very much appreciate your opinions/work.

I’ve been looking for a replacement front LCR from Focal Sib Evo. I was looking and listening for videos for Monitor Audio Silver 200, however they don’t do an Atmos topper to fit the 200, so have been checking out other makes of Atmos to sit on top of the 200’s. If come across Kef Q50A also the R900 from Polk. Once I looked up the Polk site I see that the R900 fit perfectly on top of the R600’s.. I’ve had Polks many years ago with the RT8 which I liked. As my use for mainly HT over Music roughly 75% 25% I was looking into HT speakers however I’ve been advised to look for a good Hifi speaker and that will also be good for HT. I know have the MA 200 and the Polk R600 in the race. I’ve not heard either but would appreciate your comments on hopefully both. Great podcast between you both keep up the good work Cheers Steve

The Cowboy Bebop soundtrack is a really solid choice for testing audio gear. Musically it hops genres giving your speakers a workout, but it's all excellently recorded.

Hey everyone , I have a Pioneer VSX-919AH-K that does Continuous average power output of 90 watts* per channel, min., at 8 ohms, from 20 Hz to 20 000 Hz with no more than 0.2 %** total harmonic distortion. Front (stereo) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .90 W + 90 W Would that be good enough to run a Pair of Polk Audio Reserve R600 or R700 for two channel Listening Till I can afford the Yamaha A-S801 any thoughts?

Also, no paper at all. Too easy it is warped and for the base it does a lot of doubling so it sounds louder in the base.

Paradigm premier has been out for a bit now, better finish, way better resolution especially in the mids, but they didn’t pay a bunch of youtubers to shill their products. They didn’t “pay” them however they probably said anything negative and you’ll not receive additional products to review. I heard them and they sound ok but not enough to garner this type of noise. There are much better speakers out there for the money from elac, paradigm, svs, warfedale, focal etc. The polks are a stamped steel driver (or the thinnest casting ever) it looks cheap af, with a $25 peerless xt25 tweeter, also cheesey Chinese crossovers. I’m saddened by these guys either being bribed or in some sort of hidden agreement with sound United. Sound United has a ton of pull and can make things very difficult for reviewers if they want.

I would love to see a reviewer challenge. For example, $10k total budget to play Pink Floyd - Time in a 20’wide, 30’deep, 9’ tall room with carpet and a couch. You pick the format and can add cables, room treatments and so on as part of the total budget. No headphones and no used gear. Each reviewer to post their entry video on their channel with a link to the original video posting the challenge in the description with a list of the build and prices. Only one complete build; not a bunch of options in that price range. Not required to actually build the system. Winner is the video with the most likes.
