Absolutely. I was a youth leader for a time and when I first started one parent was very concerned because I (a 27 y/o male at the time) hugged a 16 y/o girl who had been bawling after sharing some rough things she was going through. My gesture of comfort out of compassion was perceived as a potential threat because of jackals like this guy in the video. People that prey on others make everyone more cautious around the people who genuinely care for them. Which is why we need to punish monsters like this so severely - to show that we won’t tolerate the fear and lack of trust they infect society with.

There need to be better safeguards to protect children. Two adults at all times, man + woman. I promoted this for campus safety protocols -- cannot have a single man chaperoning a woman in the dark. That is life. Many men are untrustworthy + seek out vulnerable individuals + an opportunity.

I was just so relieved to hear this guy was off the streets and before he had the chance to (further) harm his own children or others. It seemed good to have a sheriff that appears to touch base with his community, albeit through the media and reflect the joy/pride of the officers who unravelled this mess. Does it not provide reassurance that solid police work is being done behind the scenes or possibly act to deter similar crimes? This (apparent) transparency and public information seemed to be a real breath of fresh air when so many cases I've followed have little to no updates and end up going cold. In those cases I would at least wish for regular appeals, such as we're still looking for 'x' vehicle, person(s) matching 'y' description, anybody in the area at 'z' time or day to come forward with information etc... But it appears in some regions, years can pass without even public reminders that certain major crimes have even occurred. Here in the UK, when a case attracts a lot of local media attention it gets tried in another major city for some of the reasons you mentioned, one being potential tainting of the jury pool. Does it not work like that in America? If not is that because your laws vary state to state or due to an alternate reason I have missed? TIA

I actually haven't heard of the Smollet case you mentioned but will certainly look further into it with the background knowledge you have provided. I believe I stumbled upon this upload purely due to some missing children cases I have been following, my concern for them, as well as some missing adults is that they may have been traffikked precisely for the reasons this particular sick individual landed himself in the spotlight for. My greatest wish is that those higher up in these rings get caught and brought to justice (yes! via courts of law moreso than via media). My growing worry though is that this level of perversion and corruption extends into the very systems we rely upon to protect us all.

I'm sure it was just pot though and you know everyone thinks that should be okay. They can't get it that it's illegal Federally and most companies won't give you a pass on it.

@@hubriswonk I will agree with that comment, but not with some of your others. It is hypocritical for sure. Alcohol is way more harmful than canna.

Just saying nurses should be okay to smoke a joint or take a shot when they are not working
