I’m 99% sure the final phase attack ring effect that the projectiles spawn from is based off of monitor size, which for my baby laptop monitor made the fight unnecessarily hard.

Unfun Fact: As far as I can tell, tMod decreases the maximum zoom out from vanilla. I am forced to use Better Zoom (which can be kinda ugly at times) to handle things like Yharon's flamethrower.

@@Lynel5240 haven't quite gotten there (currently on DoG and oh boy), but Yharon looks as hard as it most likely is so the added difficulty of a smaller screen will make the fight all the more fun

fun fact in older versions of 1.4 the zenith had this property so it could hit across the map if you buy 100 monitor's lol

@@Lynel5240i know this comment is super old, but tmodloader has a built in option in the settings to decrease the default zoom effect. this makes the 100% zoom (the default amount) really far away. i play with this setting on and the camera zoom at 120%. keep in mind playing with it zoomed all the way out can be really bad for performance, especially if you’re using High FPS support. the more tiles are on screen the worse performance will be.

it's got mad dummy missiles 0:02, it's got asgore fire rings 2:16, iit's got those undyne the undying spear rings 2:27, it's even got gaster blasters 2:44. gotta love polterghast

The Polterghast has to be the worst fight in terms of difficulty. It was the first ever Calamity boss I ever no hit just by circling the boss. Infernum makes this so much better.

2,200+ attempts!? I honestly expecting a little more less than that, but it’s still amazing how you have the patience to no-hit such a beast! I also love the desperation phase, as it gives a “ghostly” feel.

Alpha Virus isn't really that good against Polterghast, is what I've learned. Since it's a fast-moving boss, it can only really be used effectively when he finally slows down, which is ineffective. It's not a bad weapon by any means; but a secondary is certainly needed.

I just used lunar kunai for this fight because I can’t dodge and aim at the same time. Took like 80 attempts but still the best infernum fight by far imo.

Funny how this was the intended way of fighting the boss...and then no one actually fought it that way due to dually the lack of an arena size enrage and the sheer difficulty of the fight. Either way, nice job!

Now i understand why its projectiles are red due to the lore saying those are souls filled with hatred corpses of the victims of Yharim when he dumped those bodies in the dungeon.

this reminds me of when i did my malice death master mode playthrough i was forced to skip providence because of how hard it was it would 2 shot you and was night time malice ai was insane so i did poltergeist instead and the boss fight took 10 mins straight of perfection with pre prov gear and weapons and i was basically dancing around the boss in a small arena so the boss wouldn't engrage more very hard :D

Idk if this boss has a similar system to the base Polterghast where its AI becomes more or less aggressive depending on the size of its arena or not. If it doesn't, it could really use one. This boss is pretty good, especially when fought in an arena of this size. However, it is pretty underwhelming in a bigger arena.

@@Lynel5240 Sounds like a big issue, then. The boss wasn't given its own arena in the dungeon (I think), and the way it was designed relies a lot on the player having a set arena size. It should either have its AI adapt to the player's arena, or should be made to have its own arena, one way or another.

@@jimboanimations4041 It does have an arena, actually. 100x100 specifically, which is where the challenge came from. Expanding it will probably be indirectly discouraged now that the bloodflare projectiles have less stupid hitboxes.

It was balanced around this arena size, but we felt like enforcing that too much on the player would've been too harsh/restrictive And therefore it only has a surface enrage :p

Im gonna be completely honest here i beat all phases until desperation phase i was like "YES I WON" because it took so long and it just went into this stupid ass circle and i died so i instakilled all his previous phases to just fight the black hole one and i beat it (i was on melee class so i barely got any hits in thats why it was so hard) 💀
