Poly Tunnel Carpet Fitting and Patio Cleaning | All In A Weeks Work.

PORTUGAL FARM | Understanding the layout. Cleaning the courtyard patio and stairs.
Continuing with the poly tunnel build. Laying carpet!
The list is getting bigger, but it has to be done.
We quickly walk around the farm for those that are confused on its layout.
Cristina cleans the patio slabs and stairway to heaven and james takes a short trip to the uk to fit carpets in the kids new home.
The poly tunnel continues with a few headaches, but slowly getting there.
After devastating news of our beloved friend Sindy passing, we decided to delay last weeks video to this week.

Dear James &Christina, thank you for introdusing the Channel from Dan & Sindy. I watched their Videos during the happy times and in the last months. It is very sad. Great way to start, ‘ All the gear, no idear’. At least you are trying something new. I cried the day I heard of Sindy passing. She touched a lot of hearts. Bless Dan, he will need much time to grieve.

You made me cry at the end. Beautiful Sindy💔💝💖 She gave us all a gift during her voyage, together with Dan. It got to me real hard even I didn't knew her personally. My Mom had the same illness and also enjoyed pear as a water/pear icecreme. So I took Sindy's last yourney, close to home. Thank you both for your friendship with her and Dan. Thank you James for the hard needed laughs😂😂, Thank you Cristina for your ever postivity and energy❤

Thanks for the lovely tribute to Sindy, I started following their channel from the very beginning. I prayed for her and Dan every day but she is with mother nature now. We will never forget her. I must say I'd choose power washing over carpet laying. Well done you two!! That poly tunnel will indeed grow enough for the whole village 😄. Well, you don't have to plant the entire thing all at once. Maybe just start slow and do it in increments so that you don't get overwhelmed. Start with easy to grow things that will give you an immediate sense of accomplishment and then build on that as you figure it all out. You gave a very lovely tribute to Sindy. "♥️" Take care. 🥰♥️🤗

I’m now 70 and what I’ve always done as a memory is to plant a tree or shrub or rose trying to find the right name so l can reflect happy times with that friend, it’s a thing you could do even a nice large fruit tree, l don’t use tubs in case l forget to water 😘

I love your channel! You both are so real and totally charming, what a good team you are! I follow many of the x-pats Portugese channels, (which all have their own charm) and am constantly amazed at how dedicated you all are to restoration of the land and revitalization of your communities. Wow James that was impressive carpet laying, you made it look so easy which I have a feeling it’s not and Cristina, that is some vast amount of patio/terrace you’ve got to clean, do not envy you that task. Think I’d rather have your rain than our bitterly cold temperatures. So sorry to hear of the sad loss of your friend Sindy. Great video, keep em coming 😊. One tip from my poly tunnel is ground cover, whether it be weed suppressant fabric & gravel or patio stones, trying to strim in there during spring/summer is no mean feat and can do quite a bit of damage - sure you’ve already thought about this tho!

Seems like a while since I have seen you both. I love using the pressure hose. I find it really relaxing and so satisfying when the job is done. So I am 20 thousand klms away but i feel so very broken that dear Sindy the "Princess Warrior" lost her battle. I have followed their channel right from the start. Such special people. Thank you for the walkaround. I kept trying to picture in my mind how the buildings and property were laid out. Your loving tribute showing Sindy in the sky made me cry. And you have a staircase leading to the sky...it makes me think of her. Can't wait to see what you propagate from the earth and bring to life in your garden. Wondering why you are constructing this indoor garden so far from the house? We see hubby willing but not happy trekking back and forth.

The poly tunnel is in the best spot. Near the well and the existing irrigation pipes. It’s a short walk to work each day. 😊

You two are such hard workers, you are a great team! Me thinks James has laid many a carpet, surprised your knees are still good! Christina I think if you used a broom and spread some vinegar on the patio ahead of the pressure washer, you would get a deeper clean. You are doing a great job, very satisfying especially on the white parts. It’s a wonderful property and will keep you busy for a long time! Lovely tribute to Sindy, gone too soon!💕🇨🇦

i don’t like carpets, but seeing you James fitting this monster roll into the rooms so smoothly was fascinating. About the poly tunnel: maybe build it in a L-shape for a better workflow? Having the seeding area inside would make your live easier Cristina, all tools in one place, transplanting the seedlings would save you a lot of walking and you would still have enough space specially for beginning - unless you really want to feed the whole village 😅. Beautiful tribute to Sindy ❤

You really do work hard both of you, so a few days kicking back is well deserved. James that was a nice job you did of carpeting 👏 and Christina, well done on tackling your terrace....I actually use 'Patio Magic' on my paths and fences, it truly is magic, because it keeps on working after you've sprinkled it on! I only have to use once every 3/4 years! No effort whatsoever....so the next time you're in the UK grab yourselves some. Your land is laid out just right, and those polytunnels and fruit trees in the middle is perfect, you can just watch it all grow from your terrace.🍋🍈🍇🥦🌶🥕🥒🫒 🙂 On another note, I thought at the end of another video, there were people moving about on your hill, there were lights moving...🤷‍♀️ Lastly but certainly not least, my deepest condolences to yourselves and Sindy's loved one. May Sindy Rest in Peace 🦋💙🌹

@@The-Quinta Yes, do try it. The chemicals are not harmful, and it's amazing to see it work all by itself. I had black patches like you on my patio, and green mold on the fences and wall, both no longer exist, and very rarely comes back, plus not to the previous extent. Oh I see, I thought they were trespassing 😆 Good luck with everything 👍💚

I chose the right time to leave frozen UK and have 10 days in PT just as James went to UK. Lovely weather in Faro on landing. Exactly why are the stairs going to no where? 🙂 I was at Figueira da Foz on 3rd not that far from Sindy. She was so positive and determined. So sad. A moving ending to your video.

Cristina, antes de usar Vap, aplicar no piso lixivia +agua e um pouco de sabão. Deixar uns minutos e depois usar a Vap. A área é grande, muito trabalho, também não sei que material é o piso. Só uma sugestão.

Christina you get a patio brush that connects to the hose at le roy Merlin. Patio cleaning companies use products on the floor to wash and dissolve the dirt, it comes out like new. Instead of taking that patio out, build moveable flower boxes and creeper dividers and section it off into divisions maybe.😅

That is a very challenging outdoor terrace to clean! I suggest a hard surface pressure washer attachment. They are round, like an upside down some. There are some universal fit ones. They don't spray water everywhere. Good luck!

Lots of hard work in the lead up to Christmas! It’s good to pace yourself. Happy belated birthday Christina. I must admit that pressure washing the patio is one of my favourite jobs (I live in the subtropics) but my patio is about a tenth the size of yours. 😂 Thanks for the layout of your property too. I hope I wasn’t the only one asking. 😅

I have always thought a big fountain would look lovely in the middle of the patio. You could have different areas of seating and dining etc. with big plants and trees defining these areas. Or u could lift the slabs and grass it over.

Thank you for the property tour. The only question left is: What is the concrete (?) pitched structure in your garden? I understand what the structure for the poly tunnel, which is curved. Bur what is the other structure? An old green house? And by the way, James- you are a man of many talents!! (skills)
