Another note about the 2003 Hot Wheels: World Race game: it still has an active speedrunning scene to this day, which is absolutely worth investigating if you're interested in seeing just how utterly broken it can get. There was also a GBA version which more closely resembled the original Mario Kart than its console / PC version.

FH is already an open world racing game with a track creator/editor and an insane amount of vehicle customization. A few popular Hot Wheels cars like the Boneshaker and Twin Mill have appeared in the games as fully customisable cars, and FH3 and 5 both have fully Hot Wheels themed DLC expansions.

I remember playing some of the hot wheels flash games on their website, some that I remember and that you didn't show in this video are: A game based on the wall crawlers cars that had you moving things in the enviroment to get the car to the exit. It was only 3 levels long and had 4 different cars to choose from. They made a sequel to this one and I couldn't get far in that one. A game were you drive on a road on a cliff to gain speed and dodge obstacles to get to a stadium guarded by a robotic t-rex. You played as a monster truck and it was similar to the sled racing in Club Penguin. A game based on the hot wheels netflix show. I am a proud owner of a DvD that is: MotoX (if I find the DVD I could provide a video). I was a bit young to understand what the heck was going on, but despite that I had a lot of fun playing it. If I remember correctly, this is what the game had to offer: 1-3 available maps, (I always played on some sort of sand map so I'm not sure) Some customization to the bikes, And a cool promotional car. Despite being stale, it was a good time waster and had an actually pretty cool car. Considering the fact that it came from a cereal box, you get what you paid for.

I'll admit it, Hot Wheels: The World's Best Driver (the 3DS version specifically) is my guilty pleasure. I loved to drive around the hubworld as it expanded, mainly due to the features that unlock. Plus racing as each of the different cars, seeing how each fared on the sections of the hubworld made me play the game normally just to unlock the hubworld features, and then just play around for hours, paying no attention to the actual missions, or challenges. Plus, I actually liked the voice lines after getting used to them.

Loved this video! I got pretty hyped when you mentioned the Fat Bax appearance because those silly cars were what got me into HW when I was 9. But just a brief correction: The Fat Bax were unpopular, but they are by no means rare. Last time I checked, you can easily buy all the cars for relatively cheap. Heck, the Fat Bax Silhouette you showed in the video is selling for $3.00 on ebay right now. It's not so much that they are rare, it's just that nobody wants them... except me!!! Why not, some context: In 2004, HW went a bit nuts, releasing all sorts of crazy cars (such as the Hardnoze, Blings, Tooned, and more) in a great number. Never before had a company released 100 new models in a single year. However, this discouraged a lot of the more "serious" collectors. They knew why Mattel was doing this. They needed to cater to a new generation being raised by Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. Whacky and Xtreme were in, and if you didn't sell that, you were out. So, for the OG collectors, it was like "Really? Now I have to worry about spending money on over 100 cars to finish my collection? 100 unnecessary, ugly, cartoonish cars? WTF Mattel??" It worked, though. I fell in love with Hot Wheels specifically after laying my eyes on 2 Cool, a Hardnoze version of Evil Twin - I thought it was just the coolest thing ever. Started collecting since then. Glad to see other fans making content!

The hotwheels battle force 5 was basically a vehicle combat game. I recently replayed it and youre darting around beating the villains of the show with its own lore. Basically the Zark, robots, team up with the vandals, the furries, and make this device which somehow combines battle zones, settings for the episodes, and throws the team around

Let's not forget Hot Wheels Rally from 1996, which released on PC with an exclusive Hot Wheels mouse shaped like a car, with working lights and rumble feature. The game doesn't have a lot documented online but this is one I owned and played as a kid. Still own it now, gotta hook up the mouse again. The game wasn't too remarkable to the likes of Stunt Track Driver or Crash that I played at the time. It was a standard rally car and monster truck driving game through dirt roads of 4 contestants. If I could record gameplay, I'd happily upload it online, as little currently exists.

Glad to see I am not the only one who is aware of it's existence! I don't blame the guy for not knowing about it because despite collecting Hot Wheels for nearly 20 years, it wasn't until last year I learned of it and later got it myself. Have you had any luck getting the mouse to work on modern operating systems?

I'm not sure if I just imagined it or not, but I swear to remember some hot wheels flash game from the 2000s. It was story based and you drove around a pretty dark and grim city, with more "mature" themes (mature for an ~8 year old, lol). There were actual human characters whose designs were reminiscent of those from Acceleracers. I lose sleep over this weird criminal underworld hot wheels flash game I haven't seen in over 15 years and I don't even know if it's real or not.

As someone who grew up with Hot Wheels, I can happily say that Unleashed is by far one of the best licensed Hot Wheels racing games out there. And yeah, there is NO EXCUSE for the greedy post-purchase monetization. The Expansion DLCs make sense, but the live service crap was just a stain on an otherwise fantastic arcade-style racer. Heck, some of the cars in-game, I actually have either on my wall or loose for play purposes. It was fun making the "Steam Punk" Art Cars series Rodger Dodger. I was smiling when I was driving my purple Twin Mill around. I have played the Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels DLC when it launched *ON MY BIRTHDAY* last year, and I was just floored. It was cool learning the history of these 1:64 scale die-cast cars. And yes, saying it right now: My favorite design is the original Twin Mill. There's no practical reason for a car to have 2 V8 engines in it, but it looks so god damn cool that I don't even care.

I had Hotwheels Turbo Racing on my ps1 and also had the Extreme Racing, which I didn't notice was a Hotwheels game up until now 😂 I'm not a fan of racing games, but those two were among the very few ones I actually liked playing!

fun fact from my own personal research: Racing Circuit actually uses the same engine as Planet Hot Wheels and STD 2's track builder! builds of Racing Circuit have been recovered (one from my own old childhood computer lol) and sure enough, it runs on the exact same engine and has a lot of similarities from a filesystem and structure standpoint. really goes to show that it was a successor to planet hot wheels in a way
