Polymer Clay Bails

This video is more of a discussion about a few of my favourite ways to make Bails for your Polymer Clay Pendants. 1/4" Copper Refrigerator tubing can be found in the plumbing section of most Hardware stores such as Home Depot and Lowes. I demonstrate how to use the Makin's Core Adapter ( 4.5mm ) in an extruder, and how to roll a tube bead freehand. Bail making is a huge subject, and cannot be fully covered in one video.

Hi, love your work! I got a lot of great ideas. I finally found Debbie Crothers actually my husband found her so I've watched some of her videos too. I hope I can transfer my ideas onto your techniques the way you have onto hers. You've really expanded her ideas. I hope you can help me find one of the copper round dome pieces you use. I want to do black line drawings on a baked and sanded piece and then color it with water color and then seal it with liquid Kato. I'll have to buy Debbie's course to learn how to make it look smooth. Thanks to you I have some ideas on how to make the bail. Thank you so much for sharing. I'll be 76 in August so you're never to old to learn. I want to make some of your lovely book marks too. Take care, Sharon Hille

Thanks Sharon, those larger dome pieces I bake on, I found at a local bead shop, I wouldn't know where else to find them. They were a belt buckle I think- one has to keep your eyes open for things you can re-purpose

Thanks Julie, I have a video on how I make my bracelets, but not on the one I'm wearing in this video. It was scrap clay chopped up fine and put back into a cane of several different colours. Then flattened out and run through the pasta machine- folded and run through a few more times. Something like a Skinner blend, but not as blended. Thank you, I drew the image of the horse in raw scrap clay with a small ball tool, then baked it, and then used the piece as a texture stamp by pressing raw clay into it and getting an impression. It was coloured with Pan pastels and baked.
