Love the cane! I think the striped effect you get from the way that you blend, stack and cut gives such an alive feel to it. The scrap mixed for the backing of whatever your planning is going to be so exciting to see once baked. This did go really fast! Another great job. Thank you so much for recording and posting.

I love that backing you made! I’ve been doing this too since I saw you do it and I just love the excitement of waiting to see what it turns into. Can’t wait to see what you do next. Thank you.

Hi Katie- I have been binge-watching your videos! I can’t make a petal-shape- argggggh! I think I am shape-challenged! Yours is gorgeous - thanks for all your time and effort.

Your wonderful blending methods are the BEST. Most people just use out of the package colors, very few use mixing charts, but from watching your videos I have been blending my cane colors with wild abandon. I may save a bit & write down what the standard colors I threw in were if I REALLLLLLY love the result, but as I'm not making my clay items in a factory, I don't worry about replicating what I do. Worst case the clay becomes backing or bead core. It's much more individual and creative this way. Thank you!

The distorted bits/lentil bead makes me think of fiery cherry blossoms

Hey, I would have been thrilled with your discard! I usually just avoid canes, but this is a really good tutorial -- maybe I'll get better. Thanks.

Hi Katie. I like your video's. I do - however, can I give you a little constructive criticism? If I am honest, I have never watched a single video from start to finish. They are just TOO long. I either lose interest, or get fed up with the amount of detail you go over - for example - let pepole learn about square flowers by watching - don;t get out paper and draw a diagram - it gets to the point all I hear is blah blah blah. I am really sorry, but its true. There is just too much irelevant information - just show how to do things, and let people walk on their own - you cannot hold their hand through every single eventuality. I try and try to watch you all the way through but I end up shouting at the screen "Move on!!!" I simpy refuse to watch a tutorial that is over one hour which many of yours are. Even an hour is asking an awful lot. Most tutorials , even thoose with complex canes, are 45 minutes or less. That way you can watch 2 or 3 videos without eating your entire day or evening. Maybe just try doing some a little more focused on the task at hand. You can then have more videos of good content.

And see I feel the opposite I watch videos rather than TV so I prefer a long video I wouldn't even choose a 20 or 30 min video when I was learning PC so ya not sure what to say feel free to skip fast forward or not watch. I do cater to beginners which is why I started this and even w giving all the info they need u would be surprised the questions that are still asked. Maybe my channel is not for u

Also what I always wonder is why a few people have to complain about free u have options to skip fast forward or not watch where as I take the time to make it edit the damn thing even tho my editing is minimal it still takes a while then at least 3 hrs to upload and I have a full time job and no this is not it. It's our society something is free u dont pay for it and people still complain. I have surveyed by fb group and only a few said to shorten more than 3k said to do what I do so that's what I do. No one is forcing u to watch I'm not threatening u saying u have to watch the whole thing but for those who need the help and there are many that do it's there for them to see u cant assume what people know because u would be shocked when starting what u dont know

@bluemeeni All the things you have criticised are all the things I love about Katie’s videos! You say you like her vids then complain about how much you don’t like them!!! I appreciate we’re all different and are entitled to our own opinions but honestly your comment has made me a bit mad and disappointed that people can be so critical about something that is free and is their choice to watch! You can always skip forward it’s not hard is it?! One tap on a mobile! I love Katies blah blah blah as you put it, and I have learnt so much from her. She is by far my favourite KZfaq channel and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels like this! Thank you Katie, please don’t change a thing!

Hi Katie....I'm so glad I found this page again. I owe you an apology. I have just been through a hellish period of my life the last few years and sometimes i wrongly release my emotions at inappropriate times or directed at the wrong person. Im sorry I took it out on you with my comments here. I really am quite sensitive and its bothered me since then that I wrote such hurtful comments to someone totally undeserving. So i finally decided I had to find this video again to apologise to you. You are sweet...clever and creative and very kind to give of your time so freely. Hope you can forgive me. I mean this from the bottom of my heart. ♥️
