The word “Montana” always catches my eye!! Although I live in North Carolina, I will forever be homesick for Montana, even though I’ve only visited several times. I LOVE how this turned out, I think you did great without a practice run. I wish I knew I could do this good with several practice runs.

The thumbnail took my breath away (literally). Those pieces are brilliant. I had no clue there was a pearlescent metallic. That with the technique you’ve used before with some pieces resulted in a truly gorgeous outcome. Plus the way you divided your clay - the coloring on the bronze was just lovely. I imagine you must go through massive amounts of clay to produce tutorials for some pieces you make. And we’re all glad you are willing to do this. Thank you for such a great demonstration. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thought of sending their addresses when you said you weren’t sure what you’d do with it! Thank you! Be well.

Ive been having a difficult time making the holes for my pendants w cracking of the clay so I started doing them after I applied the resin and it cures but I’m still hit or miss with it what am I doing wrong any advice also these pendants are absolutely beautiful
@clayboutique Жыл бұрын
If your clay is cracking, then it’s not fully cured. Check the temp of your oven with a thermometer. Properly cured clay should have some flex to it, otherwise it’s brittle and will crack.

Thank you for your tutorials . You explain exactly everything that you’re doing at every moment. I have a question for you (maybe you already explain but I didn’t see most of your tutorials): what kind of paper do you use to put the clay on and above to make it smoother. Thank you again ❤
@clayboutique Жыл бұрын
Just regular printing paper
@amm7364 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your answer. But that paper that you use looks like it is absorbable of some grease? Please explain to me. And what is that we’re you work on? Marble? I am just beginning and tried to work putting the clay on a strong plastic …? But it glued. Could you please tell me where to work on? Thanks again 🧡
@clayboutique Жыл бұрын
It is JUST regular printing paper. Polymer clay has plasticizers and oils in it, which will leach onto the paper. Not marble, just a ceramic tile.

Fantastic pieces. I just went online with Google and there was only one piece of the Montana agate that DIDN'T look like your faux agate and that was because it was a blue hue and while it was very pretty, it didn't have the beautiful colors your does. I love yours best, (even with your Tipsy hairs trying to invade).

I have a question about my clay. I bake it at the appropriate temp and hopefully time, but it is still bendy when it's done. Is this normal or do I keep baking until it's no longer bendy?
@clayboutique2 жыл бұрын
Properly cured clay should be bendy. Under cured clay will be brittle and snap.
@Valerie-xn9kg Жыл бұрын
Hi Deb. I came across your tutorial and your work is amazing and creative. I have never seen this craft before and don't know anything about it. Is it hard to learn? Can you recommend how you would learn as a beginner? Valerie.
@clayboutique Жыл бұрын
Hi! I don’t think it’s hard to learn, and there are many easy techniques to choose from. It’s also addictive, so be warned 😁 I would recommend you start out with some basic tools. Some of them are listed in my Amazon storefront, and the link to that is in the description. Acrylic roller A needle tool…just search on Amazon Some cutter shapes - listed in the description A tissue blade/blades A pasta machine isn’t necessary, but very useful An acrylic block Some stamps to impress patterns Obviously some clay. Do not get Sculpeylll, though. Premo is my preferred clay, and can get it from any craft store. One of the simplest techniques is to roll out the clay to preferred thickness. This is where the pasta machine comes in handy, or you can do it by hand with an acrylic roller. Stamp the clay to give it an impression, and color with mica powder. Mica powders are also listed in my Amazon storefront. Cut desired shape, bake on some printing paper, on a baking sheet at the recommended temp on the clay package. Bake for a little longer than package says - 45 mins to an hour, depending on thickness. You can drill a hole using a little hand drill (listed), and add a pinch bail (listed) and some kind of cord/ribbon (listed). You can also join my group, if you are on Facebook: facebook.com/groups/265833918717989/?ref=share_group_link
