In this project I'll show you how to create these lava lamp beads in six different colors. It's a lot of fun, is easy and can be used in many different designs. I'll also show you what to do with the leftovers by making a flame cane in two different colors.

I love Love LOVE this necklace, Samantha❣I will probably be buying out my local craft store of clay later this week 🤫 so I can do some of these tutorials as well as my own designs for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I always become SO INSPIRED by watching you that I end up drawing in my idea book/inspiration journal for hours. The lava lamp necklace is something I already have a variation or two this piece dancing in my head already. From your poetry, which is very well written, to your polymer clay designs, you have proven to be a special, talented and very appreciated soul, Samantha. As my father would say, "Don't you ever forget that!...."

Amazing tutorial as ever Samantha, it's funny how ones brain will stick to saying one thing when we mean to say another. For a very long time I'd say Purple instead of Orange , and vice versa, yet I'd never call the fruit a " purple " ...weird 🤔🤗🤗

Wow. YOU always amaze me w your work. This is GORGEOUSLY beautifully designed. This is my first comment I think I have ever left you. But honestly I am going to try this. I am so sorry I dont have the finance to help you with. I had an accident that left me handicapped and then I also have autistic toddler and so my husband had to stop working to help me care for him. I have been doing polymer clay for years but w miniatures. I have done a few jewelry pieces too. Atm I dont even have enough $ to get all the proper equipment to do these. So I wish you the best in your upcoming work from the bottom of my heart. And ik will stay leaving more comments from now on. Much love, Zeny V.

btw, I wouldn't wear the necklace on the opposite side, but that's me. About halfway through your tutorial I started planning this with my black turtleneck. Maybe all of the color in the lava capsules just has me too transfixed?

love this effect! have you tried micro mesh pads instead of polishing papers? i've had mine for ages and they're still good as new, it's like paper that doesn't run out. just gotta sand wet for best results. thought u might want to test it out if you haven't already

Another beautiful project, and entertaining, clear tutorial. A question: how do you handle a resin drool that you don't catch till it's cured...sand it off?
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 4 жыл бұрын
I tend to use a craft knife to slit the resin spill along the edge of the bead where I want it to break off and the gently pull it off.

I am curious and I know nothing about clay. Why do you wait until after the beads are baked to put the hole through them? Seems like it would be easier before they are baked. Gorgeous necklace!
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 4 жыл бұрын
I wait for the beads to bake before adding holes because the holes then are sharp and neat. If I used a pin to do it while the clay was raw the beads would distort and the hole wouldn't be neat.

What product did you use to coat the beads? I looked in the link but didn’t see it. Thank you. Love you videos have tried a couple so far. However I am new so mine don’t turn out as beautiful. ❤oh also a link to the materials using to string them on. I’ve used small leather but yours looks so much cleaner. Thank you again.

For the beads I used Varathane water based gloss varnish. Pearl ex varnish is another good choice. To string I used accu-flex beading wire. www.firemountaingems.com/search/?q=accu-flex
