In this tutorial I’ll demonstrate a great technique for using Sculpey 3 without it making the project brittle. Any soft clay will work for this cool painting technique. All you need is a stencil and some clay. Try out different colors and different stencils for completely different look each time. I’ll demonstrate two in the tutorial.

Love this technique. I would love to see you do a tutorial using liquid clay. I was actually thinking about using liquid clay whilst watching the video and wondered how you could stop it from smudging after the stencil is removed. I have a lot of trouble when using chalk with smudging before the piece is baked.

Dear Samantha, what an easy, but extremely beautiful tutorial. I have been watching different artists polymer clay tutorials last few months. All are just wonderful. As a beginner it was so difficult to me to choose the first tutorial. After watching this tutorial I am dame sure I am going to start with it. Just one question. After baking the pendents did you use hard resin or gloss? Thank you so much. I look forward to seeing more beautiful and easy tutorials.

This is beautiful Samantha. I wondered what thickness you used for the original backing. Is it the thickest setting on your pasta machine and is this thick enough to support earrings without an extra backing. Very interested in liquid sculpey as well.👌

I've had small areas that I wanted to see a nice blend like the bubbles shown here. I have been using Sculpey III but when smearing the colors together it looks grainy. 1) Would any brand of liquid clay work with Sculpey III? 2) Would using Primo make it even better with liquid clay (for the mix, not the backing)?
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 3 жыл бұрын
Any liquid clay should work and mixing in Premo would also work, but wouldn't necessarily be better.

I'm very new at this clay craft and have just purchased Sculpey 111, what part of this clay was made out of sculpey 3? You said it was not to be used on it's own because it was brittle..... so are we to always mixing it with other clay ? we can't do a black base of an earring and build up on it with other clay encase the base breaks. Ii'm confused.
@JessamaTutorials
@JessamaTutorials 4 жыл бұрын
In this tutorial I used the sculpey 3 to smear on top of premo clay. The premo is much stronger and so supports the sculpey 3. I don't recommend using the clay on it's own or at all if you can avoid it as it will snap easily. If you do use it, it need to be a very small amount.

That's weird I've never had scope I 3 break. It is very sloppy if you're rolling beads you have to really cool it off in the refrigerator or freezer but i have found the beads are lighter and easier to work with and I've dropped them constantly and they'd never broken but I'm not making huge flat pieces that might be the difference. Scope I 3 is definitely not my favorite for making really hard materials but if you have arthritis you really have no choice but to work with Scott be 3 on a regular basis because the others are just way too hard even to roll out with a claim machine so when i hurt my wrist i converted desculpe 3 and it's been pretty good i am now strong enough that i can move back to the other though primo
