Vai started taking lessons from Joe Satriani and began his professional career with Frank Zappa. As a Berklee student the guy was already so advanced, but after Zappa, Whitesnake, Alcatraz and David Lee Roth... He kinda just makes the guitar do impossible things in mind-blowing musical ways. He's an absolute savant and 1:1

Had the pleasure of seeing Satriani in Stockholm Sweden around 35 years ago. He played with Stu Hamm on bass. That was sooo awesome!

I was lucky enough to see Steve Vai when I saw Zappa plays Zappa, with Dweezil, Vai, Terry Bozzio, and so many more. Unrelated, but I was blessed to see Rush, with Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and the one and only, the Professor, Neil Peart.

Steve Vai had a singer on his Sex & Religion album - the great Devin Townsend. Definitely react to some of his stuff. If you want more Polyphia, I recommend Playing God and ABC's (for a really weird out there song for them featuring a singer).

I know people keep suggesting Playing God, but as a big Polyphia fan myself, I'd HIGHLY recommend something different. I'd pick something like "Look, But Don't Touch," or either 40 oz and OD. Loved the reaction! I really hope you guys do more Polyphia!

1:55 The members are all almost 30. The whammy bar and volume swells were extensively used by Jeff Beck in 'Cause we've ended as lovers'. Seeing as he passed away recently, I wonder if it would be a good idea to show her who he was with that video?

First time finding your channel. I like your style and your banter. Love Polyphia, from right here in Plano, Texas. Steve Vai actually did try singing some a long time ago, but is best just playing his axe. I have a suggestion for something for you to react. They may be new to you. I just discovered them about 3 years ago, and they are one of my all-time favorite bands now. They are Nightwish. They are amazing. Start with Ghost Love Score live from Wacken 2013. Keep up the good work. Keep exploring new music. Take care!

1. Steve invented the 7 string guitar 2. He did sing and very well too on his Fire Garden album. Amazing album. 3. It’s super hard to slide your notes around like a trombone or a theremin like he did. His playing is super smooth 4. One of my music professors was at Berkeley with him as a guitar major. He said Steve was on another level and just left the instructors slack jawed from the get go.

@@jordanamandareact didn't invent the 7nstring guitar, he popularized it. He had the 1st mass produced 7 string guitar which started Nu-metal. Without that there's no Korn, Limp Bizkit, etc... He also pretty much made Ibanez guitars the superpower it is. When he had them do the orriginal Jem guitar they weren't a big company. Tye guitar was such a huge success they made a less expensive version the RG series, which is still the backbone of the company. Popularized the HSH pickup configuration and again was the 1st mass produced model to have that configuration. Also had the 1st 5 way switch.

Really great players speak with their instruments. Only thing that can be said about Tim and the guys is, "this one goes to 15". Nothing else needed. And it's not about a volume knob. Not many ppl are as dedicated as all 5 of the guys playing in this song. It's pure emotion flowing into the fretboard...

Steve Vai must reactions.... For The Love Of God Whispering A Prayer(live at Astoria) Tender Surrender Candle Power Dark Matter Teeth Of The Hydra Halo soundtrack(he basically made it in one take on the first take) Yes he can actually make his guitar talk....Yankee Rose is a great example. I heard him make it say full sentences on the "Skyscraper" tour with David Lee Roth in the 80's. If you want any suggestions for music, I'm a DJ and was a sound guy in an alt band and I have a long, long list of amazing songs you should here that you haven't. I have an itunes account with like 80gb of music ive bought, everything from classical to rock to r&b to country to math rock to punk to electronic, to DJ's. Let me know and I'll start leaving a short list every video.
