I like your funny words magic man Srsly tho what are pinch harmonic pentatonics do you mean picking at 1/3 of the string instead of 1/2 (cause that would be a perfect fifth and penta- is five) or were those two separate points

The great thing about Polyphia songs, especially more modern Polyphia songs, is that they're all based around fairly straightforward ideas and chord progressions so even if you don't understand all the crazy technical things that they're doing you can still easily follow along with the flow of their music. The drums and bass also always assure that there's a nice beat to bop to as well.

This band is incredible. I met the guitarists tim and scott back in 2015 at their show in New Orleans, they were only in their early 20's and they were still some of the most technically skilled musicians I've ever seen. The song writing is so creative.

Give that guy a huge sword and a dramatic back story and there you go. He could be a Final Fantasy character. Very good guitar playing, I have been playing for like two or more decades and I don't play like that. I was expecting a hard rock in your face sound but what I got was a nice great sound!

So glad you found them they are great ! Their are some bands which seem to just to exist to impress other musicians, Polyphia is one of them, but their music can still be enjoyed by regular people. :-) (because it's melodic, etc.) I don't know enough about other collaborations they've done, but if you want a Polyphia song with singing and dancing their is a Babymetal song with a feature of the guitarists Tim Henson (yes he's the one in the middle) & Scott LePage of Polyphia called: Brand New Day

The guy in the middle who you said looks like an anime character is Tim Henson who is the primary song composure of the band. He has his own KZfaq channel and even did an unplugged version of this song there. If you're going to start down the rabbit hole of Polyphia, then most people in recent years start with the song G.O.A.T. but I would also recommend O.D. and Yas off that same album and 40oz and Goose off their EP beforehand.

Yeah the guy you made several comments about is Tim. You are not the only person that thinks he looks like a Anime Character. Lots of people make that comment. Lol, he definitely looks like a real living Anime character. I say that as a cool compliment! Even his hair, lol! Anyways, loved your reaction! Yeah I kinda got hooked with their music when I heard G.O.A.T. But, it wasn’t something I could listen to over and over. This Album though is a game changer. The way everything has been written, constructed with a Melodic foundation in this new music of theirs has it all. It’s not just flexing all the way through without something else pushing it forward. It’s groovy (which I never thought I would ever say, but loving!) and something that feels good and you can vibe with. It’s still filled with lots of flexing with their technical stuff that makes them who they are. The direction that their music has turned into, in my humble opinion, is the moment where they really found who they are. The new music has the perfect combination of everything while still having their DNA that is Polyphia. I have listened to Playing God and Death Note more that all their other music combined. I listen to it in my car, doing chores around the house and when I am just chilling. I could never do that before. I always thought they were amazing but could only handle in small doses.

Check out some of their older songs too! I would consider this as one of their "flex" songs. You should check out "Drown." Its more melodic while also retaining the beautiful technicality of their style.

Check out O.D. next from Polyphia. They did a show a few weeks ago and thier tech failed so the drummers in-ears failed and his tech tapped his leg to the beat and he played the whole show like that. Unable to hear anything and played super complicated drum beats anyway. These guys are next level.

People correct me if I’m wrong. They are from Dallas, Texas. The anime guy is Tim Henson he is half Chinese on his mother’s side. These guys are modern shredders(guitar dominant instrumentals) taking the genre of the past and putting a different spin on it by incorporating a mix bag of current genres of modern music. I recommend checking out their song “Impassion” is an oldie of theirs but still bad ass and hear what they sounded like compared to now.

@Ultra-Collector
@Ultra-Collector 2 жыл бұрын
They’re playing the vocals on the guitar. For instance the guitar solo right when the beat drops in God ,is not a guitar solo! It’s simulating a🔥azz rapper coming out hard AF and dropping the first verse! Slaying everyone! Their music is based on musicians writing ,composing and mixing all genres of music. Creating all the bass parts,vocal structures,guitar harmony’s ,hip hop rap and R&B vocals ,then playing them all at once, together on just a guitar done by one person ,or in this case ,individually buy each of the two guitar players. Polyphia simply mixes all genres of music ,their rock and rap harmonies and their vocal lyrics ,then all written,composed and played on a single guitar ,wether they’re live or in studio! It’s one man doing what a 5 piece band can barely all do together and it’s Ultra impressive to say least. Unequivocally this is next level complicated music with more emotion and structure than some give them credit for! The bottom line is It’s not just music but artistic writing and musical brilliance at some of it’s absolute finest and most genius! As a professional studio musician ,Drummer and lead guitarist I can say I both hear and feel the absolute magnificence of Polyphia! -Crisis

I think of it this way ... most artists write a songs specifically with someone or something in mind, using words to communicate their sentiments. I feel like Polyphia are writing music that transcends barriers. Language, race and culture are irrelevant to the humanity of the emotional response. This music allows each individual who hears it the freedom to evoke a story that is uniquely personal and yet undeniably universal. THAT IS REALLY POWERFUL STUFF. Maybe a little bit like "PLAYING GOD" ??? This is the exact kind of thing we need to raise the consciousness of all humanity. 💖💖💖 If we are not careful, this is the kind of thing that could accidently cause World Peace. LOL If you interested in more Polyphia ... the Rabbit Hole goes deep and keeps getting better. Try out the song G.O.A.T. first and explore for yourself from there . Every song is fantastic like this only different. Every song is unique and creative with it's own flavour.
