I didn't know George personally. Yet my heart weeps for his loss. Eric Clapton knew George. I can't imagine how much he mourns him. Beautiful tribute. I can feel his love for George in every note and phrase of his guitar solo.

Yes! His vocal and most specially his guitar, made his versions of george's songs are just greatly enjoyable as george's version if not better :) His version of Something (thanks to Paul for nice ukulele and duet vocal), While My Guitar Sweeps (also thankyou Paul), and Isn't It A Pity (Preston is truly fantastic) in Concerr For George are so nice that I gave more listen to those than original one. I think george and eric had the most similar or maybe the most complement passion based on how they were so close, then clash then close again like greatest friend ever. :D

One of my favorite George songs and Eric certainly does it justice. And Doyle's slide is pretty spot on too. It's hard to wrap my head around the fact that Doyle plays with the strings upside down. He's one of a very small group.

Thats what I always admired about Clapton. On stage he does his thing never trying to be flashy. In concerts with other greats you see him standing at the back doing his magic not seeking the spotlight. Watch the tribute to Dylan for example

There is a great story behind this song. George tried to get it on one of their Beatles albums. But Clapton was included in the second version with George, and he has mastered it ever since.

Eric is so smooth...This song epitomizes what a great blues man he is and what talent he and his band have. I think the bassist is Willie Weeks instead of Nathan East and Doyle Bramhall II is a great second string slinger. The backups are great as always and Chris Stanton(?) on the keys is always a presence.
