Mind you if you google guest musician that played with the Beatles you literally get hundreds of results. These include Billy Preston, Mick Jagger, Donovan, Keith Richards, Keith Moon, Brian Jones, Maryanne Faithful as well as various backing singers and other instrumentalists.

George, Eric Clapton and George 's first wife Patti Boyd, were in a love triangle. Eric Clapton fell in love with Patti Boyd, and she left George for Clapton. The song Layla was written for her. The relationship between the two famous guitarists was always strained, although they played together on stage on several occasions. I kept thinking about it when Eric was playing George's song, to honor his life's work.

If so, then George also had "inexcusable behavior" when he confessed his love for, and had an affair with, Maureen Starkey - Ringo's wife - while George/Pattie and Ringo/Maureen were still married. You reap what you sow. Ringo forgave George. George forgave Eric.

Since 90s Clapton has really reached a new peak with his guitar playing.His pure clean strat sound with so smooth trills,crying bends and excellent phrasing really make me shiver every time i hear him playing.We all know it's really hard to play it fast but Clapton plays slow blue with such finest which is even much harder

It's worth noting however, Marc Mann carried most of the backing solo parts on behalf of Eric so that EC could focus on the lead vocal. Of course, out of deference to EC, Marc went into arpeggio mode during EC's main solo, but it was Marc Mann who was actually doing most of the backing solo work through the length of the concert. Excellent teamwork all round.

Cyndi Foore I recommend you check out The Piano Guys. They are a pianist and cellist who blend pop music and movie themes with classical pieces. The cellist has four different kinds of cellos he uses and he sort of invented cello percussion

Actually you're wrong; sure I accept these guys have immense talent and skill, but when you put it that way, it makes you seem to be ignorant, there are so many musicians who are still producing and making good music, you just have to find them. While my taste may differ from yours, I hope you find some good musicians and immerse yourself in your new found wisdom.

Absolutely! This song came out when I was 8, but I didn't hear it until I was a little older. Our neighbor had a bunch of Beatles records, and invited our family over to listen to Abbey Road. I loved it. He told me that any time I wanted to come listen to more, I could. I took him up on that. He played this song for me, among many others, and I was hooked.
