George, Eric Clapton and George 's first wife Patti Boyd, were in a love triangle. Eric Clapton fell in love with Patti Boyd, and she left George for Clapton. The song Layla was written for her. The relationship between the two famous guitarists was always strained, although they played together on stage on several occasions. I kept thinking about it when Eric was playing George's song, to honor his life's work.

It's worth noting however, Marc Mann carried most of the backing solo parts on behalf of Eric so that EC could focus on the lead vocal. Of course, out of deference to EC, Marc went into arpeggio mode during EC's main solo, but it was Marc Mann who was actually doing most of the backing solo work through the length of the concert. Cayde Smith He was also extremely close to Eric Clapton and Jeff Lynne. George Harrison was the nice guy who was everybody's best friend.

Neoh Soon Sien I don’t think George ever needed to ask for a DNA test. He seems to have a lot of George's quiet, but strong, personality as well

Yes lad well said. Scouser here. Grew up round the corner from where the Beatles are from. So proud. The best that ever did it. Just mates from the south end. Love it

Amazing. I've never heard a guitar weeping like that. It sounds beyond the human. Is as all the guitars are weeping together of the departure of George. R.I.P. Well done Eric. You are a Shamam.

Thanks so much for this comment!! I could not remember Albert Lee’s name to save my life and i had always wondered who played lead guitar on all these tribute songs for George. Marc Mann is a great guitarist!

I wouldn't say the other drummers are "trying so hard", especially not Jim Keltner. Ringo's just very laid back in his style.

What this man is capable of doing on his e-guitar is just incredible! I've been listening to this version for years, and it always refills me with this quality that music can give to life.
