You could say the same about Resident Evil. They were at the same situation when the remakes stared being made. While the developer teams changed a lot, and while some people might only like the original games, the remakes have a lot of fans too.

There's been a Metal Gear Solid movie "in the works" for years now. Apparently had a director and stuff picked out by Kojima himself. But given how there's been so little info on it since its conception, I am almost entirely convinced it's all vaporware at this point.

the only , ONLY thing i'd want is for msg5 to be finished. the game just kind of ends abruptly and leaves a big chunk of plot up in the air. While yes the concept for the final chapter of the game is available online, i just wish we could've played it, but this would only happen if Konami and Kojima temporarily put aside their differences and that's about as likely to happen as peace in the middle east

Metal gear is a series that will always stick with me and kojima told the story he wanted to tell and I will always remember these games for what it did for me about changing my perspective on video games that they can be more than just simple pick up and play but can have a great story with compelling characters that you will remember and along with great gameplay all combine into a legit fantastic experience.

What's your opinion on the RPG AC games, AKA Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla?

@@jackmesrel4933 to restrain my fury. 1. Open world too big, with the same thing to do, and too much time spent traveling. 2. Parkour is now an extra mode of transport. Not THE mode of transport. And it doesn’t even look good. It works, but it’s not cool. (Biased. I love Unity’s PK and want a game just on that system.) 3. Was not a fan of the souls-like combat. I understood that they wanted away from the counter-style combat, but that was not fun for me. 3.1 Damage counters. It became a visible numbers game. If I can see that I’m doing single digit damage with my max level high-ranked gear, I’m noping the hell out with that nonsense. 3.1.2 Hidden blade assassinations have always been 1-hit from the start. Now, that needs to be upgraded to do that. 4. Micro-transactions. ‘Nuff said. 5. This is a weird one, but Ubi’s refusal to commit to a female PC. They very much want to have one, but just can’t for some reason. 6. Too much to do. I think this was mainly a Valhalla issue, but way too many small main quests that soaked up so much time that you’re either bored or burned out by the end of. Honorable mention, the historical inaccuracy. 2/3 of those were in the Classical Era, so you can give it a little wiggle room for artistic license.

@@wrestlerwannabe Let's put our hopes in AC Mirage that claims to come back to it's roots, but if i may be honest the franchise is pretty dead at this point and it would be very difficult to return to what it was, because the original vision of the game was long gone and buried with the transition to the RPG, or even further with Desmond's death What happened to the game was the same thing that Pomu feared with MGS, they wanted to extend the lore to a point that it wasn't enigmatic or interesting anymore, and the main plot pretty much losses it's purpose in the years after It's a matter of fact, we will have AC Mirage because Ubisoft is in trouble right now and it was forced to do what the fans wanted, i cannot really think possitive of the future of the franchise if this game succeeds

@@matijota8728 hopes are not high. Although, if Mirage does turn out to be okay (and I use that word specifically), and justifies at least 1 more game, we can maybe bury the Layla trilogy in some cellar somewhere and never mention it again.

Kojima kinda already screwed things up when he made an entirely new game just to justify Big Boss' return from the dead in MG2. For years that aspect's been a non-issue and people attributed that to "8bit game story bad" or simply "nanomachines, son". The fact that he made a new story, with new characters, about a clone that was only used as a scapegoat in the end already proves Pomu's point. MGSV made Big Boss look like a cartoon villain when MGS3 and PW already cemented him as a strong and complex villain. EDIT: this is a rant about MGSV. MG1 and MG2 are good games.

@@Assasin2 Not really. My comment is more of a rant about MGSV's useless plot and overrall lack of reason for existing. MG1 and MG2 are nice games in their own merit.

Kojima LITERALLY stated like 15 years ago that he had already planned an entire game starring The Boss during WW2 operations. So either you're writing some cool headcanon, or Kojima himself has made a 180-degree turn at some point.

4 was fine, a decent enough starting point for a new trilogy, shame that 5 and 6 (cus whatever the marketing team says, Infinite is just Halo 6) were to Halo what TLJ and TRoS were to Star Wars (come to think of it, Halo 4 is also somewhat similar to TFA, but at least the legacy character that died in 4 did it in a non idiotic way)

@@Healbot2000 Which is what 5 felt like it was trying to built up to, especially given its epilogue stinger. Outer Heaven and Zanzibar Land would have awesome to explore in 5's engine. Additionally so many of those boss fights would be way cooler without having to entirely overhaul them- like Predator's battle where you're both hunting each other in a tall grass field; or Night Sight, where he's supposed to be invisible and only trackable by the sounds his footsteps make on different types of flooring, which just didn't 'work' in MG2 because you just looked at the endless barrage of white pixels (ie his bullets) to find him

Agreed- from what we've seen Snake's "first missions" were more or less just him doing regular missions with like, no personal investment from what I recall- you'd have to twist lore in some pretty bold ways to turn his origin into a story worth telling, on the same level as regular Metal Gear games.
