These films and quotes never get old. The first Crocodile Dundee was the last movie my ancient Mother ever watched. She had been ill but was still full of spunk and I thought she'd get all the humor and growing romance. She chuckled and smiled the whole way through and was not the least bit thrown that Dundee packed a big knife around with him.

The ones now have about a quarter of the (best & funniest) content taken out, due to it being deemed racist, sexist & homophobic. That's not a knife is most iconic, but the "wakey-wakey" I remember as being inserted as a regularly used phrase back then, and still hear it today. It's subtle, and not much of a quote, but I think this movie made it common.

Another great scene is when Erskine's brother encounters Nugget "You:shoulda brought a gun instead of a beer mate." "Nah...I don't need a gun... I've got a donk." (Laughs)..."You've got a what?" Donk comes up from behind, spins him around and exclaims...DONK! before clocking him. The look on the guy's face just before he gets slugged is priceless.

My favorite quote is Q: "Do you raise cattle", A: "No buffalo mostly", Q: "Oh, do you breed them?", A: "No I toss them". Only if you understand what the word "toss" means in Australia would you find this funny, I burst out laughing in the theater... :D

Why is it that there are so many great Aussie sayings in this movie like "blowin the froth off a few" and Americans only remember "throw another shrimp on the barbie" No Australian has ever thrown a shrimp on a barbie. We eat Prawns.

"Throw another shrimp on the barbie" was not in the movie. It was in the Australian Tourism Board commercials that were produced to get the USA to visit Australia and they were the finest tourism commercials ever. The reason that 'shrimp' was used was that Americans didn't know what a 'prawn' was. Paul Hogan got to make the Dundee movies because of the commercials.
