Pont y dulais - a cameo in OO

Күн бұрынPont-y-dulais is my OO gauge, 1:76 scale micro cameo layout that sits on a shelf in my workshop. Less than 1m long, and just over 22cm deep, supported on an IKEA 'Lack' shelf, it serves as a place to play trains for a few minutes as you pass by, as a photo plank for customer models and as a piece of 3D artwork in the home.

Hi, love your channel! What kind of LED lighting do you use? How many lumen/feet (or per meter)? I’m looking for LED strips for my own shelf layout on an IKEA shelf.

I can't take credit for the discovery of this particular brand of LED Light strip - I've used it on every layout since East Works: paxton-road.blogspot.com/2019/10/east-works-we-have-light.html hope that helps.

Love the shed, scratch built i guess, but the ground textures around the shed and around the crossing really set it off really set the layout 'in place' and remind me of how delapidated steam depots were back in the 60s. What materials did you use?

The shed is styrene, layers of plain and textured to build up a strong structure. I prefer to avoid kits as they're a little too obvious. The scenic materials, nothing special - filler for ground texture, scatters and short fibres for ground cover.

Thank you Dirk. I haven’t tried the Trax controller. What I’d really like is a rechargeable 12v battery controller… ultimate in portable then. I figured if it used a decent chunk of batteries you’d get a few hours out of it between charges.

@@dirks.4172 I don’t use feedback on my DC Controllers… pure DC no rectification or pulses, just pure DC.

I love the banking and the hedging/looks so natural. What method did you use James to build up the banking approaching the bridge?

Because this is such a small layout I used slices of polystyrene ceiling tiles, layered up and then coated with plaster bandage.
