BOOKS ABOUT ISRAEL BY TODD FINK: www.toddmichaelfink.com/books
Location
1. The Pool of Siloam was uncovered in 2004 during a water pipe break.
2. It is in the lower part of the City of David.
3. It was located on a main road that headed up to the Southern Gate entrance to the temple.
Historical Background
1. The Pool of Siloam was a large purification mitzvah for the Jewish holy festivals like the Passover, Feast of Tabernacles, Pentecost, etc.
2. The historian, Josephus, who lived during the time of Christ, records that up to a million Jews would make pilgrimages to Jerusalem on these holy festivals. These Jews had to be purified before entering the Temple Mount.
3. It was the size of two Olympic-sized swimming pools.
4. It has the same kind of stones and style as the Southern Stairs.
5. Its water source comes from the Gihon Spring in the City of David.
6. The water runs through Hezekiah’s Tunnel, which was built in 700 BC to prevent Jerusalem’s water source from being cut off by the warring army of the Assyrians.
Places of Interest
1. Pool of Siloam
2. Road from the Pool of Siloam leading up to the southern entrance to the temple
3. Southern temple entrance
4. Gihon Spring
5. City of David
6. Temple Mount
7. Hezekiah's Tunnel
Pool of Siloam in the Bible
1. Jesus performed an amazing miracle here by healing a blind man.
John 9:1-7
2. Why did Jesus make clay out of dirt and His saliva?
To possibly show that He was the Creator and formed Adam and Eve out of the dust of the ground.
3. Why the Pool of Siloam?
It was a key purification place, and multitudes of people were likely present to witness the miracle.
It was an example of living water. John 7:37-38: Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’”
4. The confrontation between the blind man and the religious leaders
(John 9:28-34).
5. Later this man also received spiritual sight and became a follower of Christ (John 9:35-38).
6. Jesus pronounced judgment on those who refuse the light God gives them (John 9:39-41).
Faith Lesson from the Pool of Siloam
1. The blind man received physical sight because of Jesus.
2. Later, he would receive spiritual sight as well and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Have we received spiritual sight by being born-again?
3. The blind man was cast out of the synagogue, which was an enormous price to pay for a Jew. Are we willing to pay any price to follow Christ?
4. If we refuse the light God gives us, we can become spiritually blind like the Pharisees and religious leaders of Jesus’ day.
5. Contrary to what many believe, God does not always heal everyone and has more than one purpose for sickness.
Biblical Purposes for Sickness and Ailments
1. Sickness for the glory of God.
Example of the blind man Jesus healed at the Pool of Siloam. John 9:3: Jesus answered, “It was not that this man sinned, or his parents, but that the works of God might be displayed in him.
2. Sickness for disciplining believers living in sin.
Example of believers who partook of the Lord’s Supper with sin in their lives. 1 Corinthians 11:30: For this reason, many among you are weak and sick, and a number sleep.
3. Sickness to keep us humble and dependent on God.
Example of the Apostle Paul. 2 Corinthians 12:7: So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited.
4. Sickness that allows us to glorify God in the midst of our suffering as we show our love and devotion to God despite our problems.
Example of the life of Job. Job 13:15: Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.
5. Sickness for transforming us into the image of Christ.
Romans 8:28-29: And we know that for those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son.
6. Sickness that will develop within us a greater appreciation for heaven and all its pleasures.
2 Corinthians 4:17: For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
7. Sickness unto death.
Eventually, we’re all going to die regardless of what happens. Example of the great Prophet Elisha.

I love Jesus too.. But as a Muslim I cannot believe he is God..or the Son of God. How is that even possible? Trinity does not make sense to me. God is 1 God.... why put him into 3 parts? With all due respect. But I believe Jesus was one of God's greatest prophets and messengers. I did my research on both Bible and Quoran. As an Ex Christian I found Islaam..which makes more sense to me Read chapter Maryam and chapter The family of Imraan in the Quoran and you will understand what I mean. God says: Be and it is. Koen faya koen..just like he created Adam without mother and father. He created Jesus without a human father. Jesus depended on God..so he is not God..but his creation. God spoke " be" and Thus Jesus was created. A Muslim cannot be Muslim without believing in Jesus!!!

If he believed in Jesus, then you don't need to worry or ask for anyone to pray for your grandfather to make it in to heave. All he (or you) need is to simply believe/accept Jesus! Jesus' death on the cross paid for all the sins we would ever commit. So if your grandfather accepted Jesus, then he is with Jesus now in heaven. No need to worry!!! If he didn't believe in Jesus, but only believed in "God", then you could pray that he would have accepted Jesus before he died (even on his deathbed). Other than that- if he ever accepted Jesus, then his sins were forgiven and he is in heaven today 😃😃😃

How would you respond to charismatic and prosperity false teachers?
@HolyLandSite
@HolyLandSite 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your question. I would kindly say that from a strictly biblical view, the Bible doesn't not teach that God heals everyone of sickness. The teaching that everyone should be healed also creates a lot of confusion and disillusion in many Christian's lives because they are taught to believe that if they aren't healed it's because they have a lack of faith. One example is that not even the Apostle Paul healed everyone. 2 Timothy 4:20 says: "Erastus remained at Corinth, but Trophimus I left sick at Miletus." It appears Trophimus was a fellow worker of Paul. If God heals everyone, then Paul would have healed Trophimus instead of leaving him sick at Miletus.
@donsimonds5186
@donsimonds5186 3 жыл бұрын
The preacher does a very very good job, but the four reasons he broke down for healing are really just one, it is all for the glory of God. Creation was for the glory of God, when Satan fell and rebelled it was for the glory of God, when Adam and Eve were deceived by Satan it was for the glory of God. Jesus said in the world you will have tribulation but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world oh, this too is all for the glory of God everything is for the glory of God. Our Salvation is for the glory of God. This wonderful world even in his Fallen state is magnificent and it was not made for us but for the glory of God. I think it was Paul the Apostle that said, whatsoever things you do do all for the glory of God.

Jesus Christ, the thrill of hope, for a sick and weary world-Romans 10:9-10 from the Bible: “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. Thanks for your comment. Yes, I am saying the Jesus was the Creator and God in the flesh. God and Jesus are one. Look carefully at what God says in Colossians 1:13-17: "For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-all things have been created through Him and for Him. 17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."

@@HolyLandSite Revelation Chapter 5 clearly shows us that G_d is on his throne, a book in His right hand, and no one is worthy to open the book or look thereon. An elder tells John not to weep, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed. Then Messiah opens the first seal. All I have to say, is that to me, Messiah layed his life down willingly, and is able to take it up. Messiah has given us the opportunity to become part of the Abrahamic promise.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, I am saying that Jesus was the Creator and God in the flesh.

@GreatIsThyName Thanks for your comment. Jesus was not created. Jesus has always existed because He is God. He came to earth and took on the form of a human, but He was not created by God.

Jesus was the Plan of God or Salvation or the Spiritual Oxygen to live eternally. Everything was created due to the Plan of Jesus to be born and then overcome Sin and destroy his Sinful Flesh. In Hope & Faith & Love, Thomas

We don't want to hear "maybe this" or "Maybe's That" my brother, Precept it or drop it. If you cant precept it from any Hebrew text then it's all just garbage and indigestion... - - - >>> Isa.28 [13] But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Thank you for your comment. I believe you're referring the the parts where I said maybe when referring to why Jesus made clay to anoint the blind man's eyes, and why the miracle happened at the Pool of Siloam. I believe when teaching the Bible and we come to places that do not tell us exactly why something happened a certain way that it's best to give likely reasons and not be dogmatic. We don't know exactly why Christ made mud or that the miracle happened close to the Pool of Siloam. If I were to be dogmatic I would by saying something the Bible does not say. So, to be strictly biblical, I believe it would be wrong for me to say something the Bible does not say. I always try to be strictly biblical and say nothing more or less than what God has revealed in His Word. Thanks for your passion for the truth.

@@HolyLandSite Glad you replied my brother, since you did I will give you the answer on why ! Read John.9 [6] When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, Now jump down to verse 39------[39] And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind. [40] And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also? [41] Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth. and how do we see-------John.7 [38] He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. See this part of verse 41.... "but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth." 1John.3 [4] Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. See your statement---- "Thanks for your passion for the truth." Truth defined ----- Pss.119 [142] Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth. John.9 [6] and 39-41 ...... who is seeing and who is blind --- -- -- > "and thy law is the truth." John.8 [44] Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. and abode not in the law because there is no law in him. ok my brother.... good job. Which attribute do you possess, the Blind one or the See one ? Pss.119 [104] Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way. Isa.28 [13] But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
