The plaintiffs are a husband and wife who work in real estate and painted the defendant’s house before she sold it. The plaintiffs say the defendant fired their team on the last day of the project and refuses to pay, so they’re suing. The defendant argues the plaintiffs did not know what they were doing and because of their argument, the sale was delayed. She says she doesn’t owe them.

It’s not always what is said, but the way it was said. ‘Honey’ was technically disrespectful, but Judge Milian chose to make a joke out of the plaintiffs slip. If the plaintiff had been at all disrespectful in her attitude before referring to Judge M as ‘Honey’, I think the judge would have had to re-demand the respect her position is due.🤔

I don't think the defendant was the easiest to work with, but a contract would've solved the plaintiffs' problems. She keeps moving things out? Show her in the contract where she needed to have everything out by whatever date. She's unsatisfied with their speed? Show in the contract where they're abiding by the agreed upon timeline.

My father was in real estate back in the 1970's and 1980's and even back then I remember him saying that a freshly mowed lawn adds $2,000 to the value of a house and can halve the time to sell and it was frustrating how many clients didn't understand that and didn't want to mow the lawn and weed the garden or didn't want to spend a hundred bucks on getting a landscaper in as an investment in maximizing profits. This woman is an idiot for wanting to list a house with all that junk inside. No buyer wants to look at piles of junk and walls painted bright colors. Bright pink, orange and yellow walls and piles of junk will knock tens of thousands of dollars off the value of the house

I've heard different. When we sold my parents home, which was in the same shape as the defendants, our real estate agent told us don't spend money on anything that you won't get a 10x return on. I really did want to spend a weekend fixing up the house and yard since the home we grew up in grew dilapidated with my parent's old age. We actually did get a surprisingly good offer on the house.

I do my own landscaping as a hobby. I sold my home, during the time mortgage companies were having a difficult time- early 2000's, and sold my home in 10 days from when it was listed. The buyers said the landscaping really drew them into wanting to see my home. They said if someone takes care of the outside they usually take good care of the inside too. It does matter. We actually had to move before our new home was finished being built, so we put our stuff in storage and moved into my parent's house for 3 month. It matters a lot. Personally, I wouldn't even go look at a house where the yard wasn't kept up with

@@julietteoscaralphanovember2223 Exactly. Buyers like clean, fresh, and pretty. As a former Realtor, it was horrible to be on the other side of a contract with an agent like this. You have to do all their work to protect your client because they won't or don't know how to do it. Just like the painter guy got screwed because she didn't document anything. All she cared about was her commission. To be successful FINANCIALLY in real estate, you just have to be a good closer. Fortunately, most actually care about their clients.

If anything, the plaintiffs learned that you do nothing unless you have a signed contract. Trust and having faith in someone's word is a thing of the past. Honor no longer means anything. The defendant scammed them in my opinion and I think the plaintiffs should have gotten the $2k.

2k to paint/spackle is cheap i bet they realized this in the process of having a dirty house filled with alot of stuff that he started to paint without covering every hole besides that if his the "contractor" it should be him nd homeowner only doing business with his wife nd here real estate is another separate thing not to be involved

and he is legally blind, for I have been blind people. Sad he did not do a good job on the painting the walls.

Bad horrible disgusting paint job. If she needed to move things out and clean the walls then don’t start the job until she does that. It’s so easy I don’t get why people don’t demand this because there is another case almost like this where there were roaches all over a lady’s house that needed food cleaning yet they started the job anyway then said well it didn’t work because she didn’t clean.
