It's not optional or out of the kindness of your heart. It's mandatory. You're not a good person because you decide to call it a "donation". I really hate when self proclaimed religious people, especially someone who calls themself a Rabbi, Minister, Pastor, or any other religious leader, act in a "Holier than thou" manner and pretend that they're more charity than they actually are. It's hypocritical and goes against everything that they preach. They're supposed to be the example for their community and hold themselves to a higher standard, not place themselves above it all, portraying themselves like they're all about that life. When in reality, it's just a facade to make people believe you're a good person, especially when you are held in a position of trust and credibility with the public.
