Completely agree. Went back and watched it again so I could pay attention to the details, the dialog, and the cinematography. Indeed a masterpiece.

You know what I found interesting? That her mother (well Victoria) was accused of being obsessed with sex before she killed herself. So I wonder how much of her sexuality just came with the body.. I don’t know does that make any sense? It’s a theory, because her mother was never allowed any self discovery in that regard.

I hated it. I could t wait for this very long movie to end. Then after it was over, a few hours later, it all sunk in or better put - shinned through. It kind of like that person you just meet and have a big fight and they become your best friend. That.

I experienced that to a lesser extent with Wim Wenders new film perfect days. I never HATED for a second, but hours after I left the theatre I began to process what I’d just watch and came to realize how beautiful it was. Love it when that happens.

@@ethanatthemovies6650 Thanks for responding and it’s cool you can relate. Hate is a relative term. But you get it. But those mini-epiphanies are rare and quite cool. I think Poor Things addresses topics and issues from a perspective that is brilliant. A reverse Benjamin Button. What does your poster comments mean about “Blue Angel”? Do you know? By the way…I like your style. Very direct, intelligent yet relatable and unpretentious. I subbed and sent channel link out on media.

The Blue Angel? I googled that and found a 1957 spaghetti western. I doubt that’s what you’re referencing. What is it? This film was a bit preachy to wokeness. That is a valid narrative. Let us show you how to think about women and feminism thought the untarnished and uncorrupted eyes of a pure soul. No one is pointing that out because Hollywood thinks their job is to tell us how to think and what is important. This film certainly fits both their self appointed role and narrative.

A really DISGUSTING movie. Poor Emma Stone: she deserved a far better script. So sad for her, even if she won an Oscar

I think being SAD for her is a stretch. Regardless of your feelings on the script, she liked it and decided to do the film. It wasn’t forced on her. And as you pointed out she got another Oscar.
