Just discovered this version ; as a French person I cannot congrat the third singer enough, who is apparently not a French speaker at all and only learned for the song. Yes a bit disturbing the very first second, but adding a lot of charm! You did an amazing job trying to reproduce our pronunciation, not easy at all! (Your way to pronounce the "R" is beautiful ahah) Great job to all of you guys 🤝🏻

I thought he was part of the German minority of Romania (like their current president, Klaus Iohannis)... I just realized something, is Marius Sampelean from Romania too? I am far from an expert on names but his name sure "sounds" like a Romanian first and last name...

The subtitles is in Romanian language. It is not portuguese

@@TonyJayMusic I have a very limited understanding of Romanian (Romanian is a pretty difficult language with its declensions and the influence of many languages in its vocabulary) but as soon as I recognized it was Romanian it peeked my interest and I noticed the video itself was made in the National Theater in Cluj Napoca and at least one if not two of the singers were either Romanians or living in Romania....

@@denisbreda4176 The French part of this song is the part which is supposed to be sung by Phoebus, Ren Wu was right when (s)he attributed it to Phoebus... In the original French version with the original distribution this is the part sung by Patrick Fiori...

To me, a native French speaker, most of it is very good... The only problem is that when there is one of those pronunciation issues it "breaks the spell" and it takes me several seconds before the magic comes back... Sometimes it is better to listen to a song in a language you do not understand because your only focus is now on the beauty of the singing, not on possible pronunciation issues... I wrote in another comment that I thought it was possible Mr Von Korch did not actually speak French and possibly learned this song phonetically (or something similar) so I am not surprised Tony Jay confirmed it...

She is credited as Mara Cîmpean in the closing credits but I believe her full name is Mara-Iulia Cîmpean. I believe, like Mr Von Korsch that she is Romanian. As to her being very beautiful (or as Romanians would say foarte frumoasă) that is quite frequently the case of Romanian women... ;-)

Denis Breda Thats because he can sing notes that other singers only dream about singing :) Kidding asside, the idea was to take this beautifull song, the original and put our own “fingerprints” on it if you will, make it our own, changing it enough to make a difference by singing it in 4 languages, changing the key even higher then the original towards the end to showcase our voices but in the same time not to change it so much thst we loose the warmth, the feeling of the original. In my oppinion this is the recipe for a good cover song, this was our goal and hopefully we succeded.

It would have been nice if Stefan von Korch had sung his part in Romanian or German (because of his last name I suspect Mr von Korsch is part of Romania's German minority from which president Klaus Iohannis comes from too). Unfortunately I believe neither a Romanian nor a German translation of this song exist..

I wonder how difficult it would be to make a Romanian or German version of this song... I know someone on KZfaq made a Greek version but it was more an adaptation that a translation but adaptation or translation it was still very good...
