First time i'am seen Popa Chubby and I like him already, the man's got soul...Respect!!

Remember first time running into his sound on afterskiing during a skiing vacation in Tignes, France in january '98 For a long time bluesrock fan, I think that was the coolest sound I've ever heard, so I asked the bartender who it was. They played the album 'The First Cuts'. I thought it was a black musician, since his voice sounded 'black', just like Sherman Robinson, Albert Collins and the like. I've been an immense fansince, and attended three of his concerts here in Denmark, though long time since last time. God bless him and his music.

First time I saw this guy was at the Bitter End a couple of years ago at Christmas time. Open mic night but Popa Chubby played pretty much all night with the house band no matter who else got up and played - awesome talent!

Popa chubby is now my favorite bluesman. Altho coming close is Kenny Wade Shepherd, Joe Bonamassa and Larkin Poe. All my other heroes have passed: Johnny Winter, SRV, Lightning Hopkins and John Lee Hooker. Saw Winters at Woodstock’69 and 5 other times and Lightning and Hooker in Houston 1974 and met them post concert and got to meet them, and their wives and buy them a Pearl beer. Saw Popa in Portsmouth NH Feb 18 this year. He was last of 4 groups to biggie and only was able to play for 20 minutes, way to short, so will try and get tickets next time he’s in New England.

I just discovered Popa Chubby a few months ago. I saw his cover of "Who Knows" by Hendrix and was blown away. I love his other music too. Such a great player. "Nobody Loves Me Like I Love Myself" is so awesome...Thanks for uploading! =)
