The Supro 1600 Supreme is a replica of the late 50’s Valco-made 1×10 combo that was sold bearing either the famous Supro lightning bolt or the rare, Oahu branding as seen on the vintage tube amps long favored by Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones. This 25-watt, no-nonsense rock & roll machine is based around the high-gain preamp and Class-A 6V6 output stage, signature cosmetics and unique stair-step cabinetry style found in the Supro combos from the late ’50s.

I bought two and run them in stereo. I also run a jam session, and they are perfect. Small enough to crank a bit in a small to medium sized room. They take effects very well, and if you turn them up they SCREAM. I'm waiting for the chance to play them on a big stage at a festival where I can really open them up. I played one of them alongside a 50 watt marshall and it kept up in a mall room!

About to order one of these. About to have my third back surgery (I'm 37). I've been playing an Orange Rocker 30 for the past 7 years, a 60lb 1x12 amp, and just can't do it anymore. Mike has proven to me I can get a similar clean to bite with picking dynamics. I had been looking at the 1642rt before as another amp for the studio, but this little guy is going to be perfect. Amazed by the versatility!

Just grabbed a demo version from Sweetwater for under $600. Great freaking amp! But how did you stand next to the thing with both channels dimed? This thing is a wooly beast. It’s probably not even the claimed 25W but it sounds like 100. Wish it had a 5W switch!

I absolutely love the Black Magick, but it's really bass heavy with the tone below 80%, I'm wondering if the 10" speaker remedies this, but I haven't got to actually play one yet. Sounds killer. I could still rock the Black Magick, but I want a little more leeway with the tone control.

Yea the Black Magick's are a bit boomy in the low end but nothing compared to the Thunderbolt, but I guess that's part of their charm. I quite prefer the top end cut of this Supreme myself

This vid convinced me to buy this amp. The one I received sounds extremely bassy. What kind of fuzz did you use?

I think the vid is all straight in... yeah, they don't lack for bottom end, which is surprising with the 10" speaker. I use a Vertex Steel String pedal as kind of a clean tone focuser/enhancer and it adds some nice high end.

There's no way this amp is a class A amp running 25w from 2 6V6 power tubes. It might still be loud if it's got an efficient speaker but the only way you'll get that much power is class AB. Sounds excellent nonetheless.

What's it like break up wise? Have you gotta crank the balls outta it? Looking into buying a supro, can't decide which though! I want to be able to have the classic supro overdrive sound and be able to go clean, is that possible at similar volume?

Jon Hall yes. Use your guitar volume knob (and tone).
