Poppy Medicinal Flowers

Poppy seeds are a powerhouse of pain relief properties which has a calming effect that may gently induce a relaxing sleep.
Either wait until the flower heads are completely dried or pick them and hang them upside down to dry.
CAKE 🍰
-350 g x flour
-270g x sugar
-1-1/2 teasp x baking soda
-1/2 teasp x baking powder
-3/4 teasp salt
-1/2 cup poppy seed
-1 cup x flower petals
-1-1/2 cup x soy milk
-1/2 cup coconut oil or any veg oil
-2 tbsp x apple cider vinegar
-5 tbsp x fresh lemon juice
INSTRUCTIONS 🥣
•preheat the oven at 180C
•mix all the dry ingredients plus the poppy seeds and flower petals
•in a separate bowl mix all the wet ingredients
•now combine the wet ingredients with the dry and slowly mix with a wooden spoon or spatula
•prepare your 2 x 8 inch baking pan and spread some vegan butter all around so that the cake won’t stick.
•divide the batter evenly in 2 parts
•bake for 30/35 min
•let completely cool before covering it in buttercream
FROSTING 🧁
-120g vegan butter
-450 g x powdered sugar
-4 tbsp x fresh lemon juice
-poppy seeds and flowers as you like
INSTRUCTIONS 🥣
•combine all ingredients together until smooth
•apply on the cake and store in a cool dry space
•you can add poppy seeds,flowers,lemon zest in the buttercream
•if too thick add more butter or more squeezed lemon juice

I know this is a joke but to anyone reading this: no you don't get addicted to poppyseeds. The substance to make morphine is harvested by making slits in the seed pods of opium poppies to gather the milk dripping from it. That's opium "gum" you further refine. Many poppy varieties exist and many do not have enough opiates in them.

While the seeds have small traces that can be detected through tests if eaten in high enough amounts, it's not enough to create an addictive reaction in one's body, nor is it high enough to get high off of even of you smoke the seed. You should read more.

When I was a kid (90's), we used to buy bulk bags of poppy seeds and make a tea. It took a *ton* of them, but they were really cheap so it didn't matter. Eventually companies started spraying their seeds with a chemical to make you sick, so we stopped.

To get those you have to buy in bulk online I’m pretty sure and you make sort of tea with them. About a cup of poppy seeds in about 16 ounces of water with a little lemon juice, let soak overnight and shake regularly. Never done it myself but I looked it up a couple times bc I was curious. People say it’s VERY addictive..

FYI, it's the entire plant. Not just the sap. Thats just how to harvest without cutting the plant down. In large fields that are grown for opium, the entire plant is harvested and boiled down

Fun fact, im on probation, i dont do drugs. Im december, I failed for opiates and I swore to MY PO I didn't take anything and i wanted a lab test. I went home to eat and realize, i had been on a diet of 3 bagel sandwiches a day for that past week. Organic Poppy seed bagels. I stopped eating then, explain it to probation with pictures, he didn't really believe it but he let it slide. Be careful out there!
