I live in Wiesbaden but English is my first language. I came here bc I was so frustrated learning German I had to return to my own language to see how they were teaching it and hopefully find out what the words mean that the German teacher keeps forgetting to tell us. I thought it might help to return to English and it did. It helped more than I even suspected it would.

Hi guys, I really like your chanel. I have seen lots of English teachets.I think you're the best ones. Congrats! What's the difference between dash an underscore
@InteractiveEng
@InteractiveEng 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Elena. Thanks so much for your comment. We're glad you enjoy our lessons. That's a great question. A dash is an actual punctuation mark in which you can add parenthetical statements or comments. An underscore is a keyboard symbol that used to be for underlining text. But this is back when people used typewriters. Today, I think it's mostly used as a "space" when typing names or passwords. Hope this helps! 😃👍

What the meaning of "over-the-counter medicine"? I am really curious and I am so excited to learn it 😘😘😘
@InteractiveEng
@InteractiveEng 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. That's a great question. The term "over-the-counter" means that you can buy something without having a prescription or license. It's often used when talking about medicine that you can buy without a doctor's prescription. So for example, people can buy Tylenol or Advil for headaches and they don't need a prescription. These would be over-the-counter medicines. 😃👍

Hi! I was wondering, in an Amazon order or any other number like this one: 407- 7839789- 234989 - 2234- what do you normally use to separate the numbers a hyphen or a dash, what would you say if you had to spell it? Thanks for always teaching great lessons with your videos!

Hi there. I often say underline is it also correct ? Thx
@InteractiveEng
@InteractiveEng 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comment. That's a great question. I suppose it depends on the context. If you're only talking about the single, underline that people might use when writing passwords, then it's more commonly called underscore. Nevertheless, I think people would understand you. But when I think of the word "underline," I think of underlining the entirety of a word. 😃👍
