In our first year tackling the challenge independently, we hit a milestone with the successful hooking and release of a remarkable Porbeagle shark. Armed with top-notch gear including Penn Squall 50 reels, Penn Regiment III Rods, Cox and Rawle rubbing leader, and 14/0 circle hooks, we encountered a 200cm beauty weighing an estimated 160lb. Excellent. Try crimping the barb of the hook, and obviously keeping the pressure on the fish through out the fight. So much easier to release. Well done chaps, good day, good video, thankyou.

Great video! Enjoyed watching. Looks like you could do with some of our floats 👍 Was that one of our bite traces? Yum yum yellow shrink tube on the join by the hook.

“Thanks for the feedback! Yes, we did purchase some gear from you a couple of seasons ago, including some knot tyers and pullers which we use every trip. They’ve been absolutely brilliant and really handy for when we tie braid to swivels, stopping the line from digging into your hand. Your rig ties have been incredibly useful, and the rubbing leaders, weights, and hooks have been fantastic. Our first attempt at shark fishing last season was a success, and we’re definitely hooked! Looking forward to the upcoming season and hoping to reel in a thresher this year. Thanks again for your great products!”
