Super soft and fluffy! This Pork Asado Pandesal is a delicious twist from the classic Pandesal. It is filled with pork asado filling and made from homemade dough.
INGREDIENTS:
For the Pork Asado Filling:
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 3 cloves garlic, peeled and minced
- 1 medium size onion, peeled and chopped
- 500g pork shoulder or pork butt, cut into cubes
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 1/2 cups hot water, add more as needed
- 5 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
- 2 tsp dark sweet soy sauce
- 3 tbsp brown sugar, adjust as needed
- cornstach slurry ( 1 tbsp cornstarch dilluted in 3 tbsp water )
For the Pandesal Dough:
Yields: 20 pieces pandesal ( approx 50-51g each )
- 1/2 cup lukewarm water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 3 1/4 cups bread flour
- 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
- 1/2 cup lukewarm milk
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 raw egg
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
* Knead the dough using stand mixer or by hand
*Bake in a preheated oven at 160C for 18 to 20 minutes
