Here's an insightful film which shows the production quality and detail given to every Porsche 928 that rolled out of Zuffenhausen.

Hard to believe my 84 928s will be 40 years old this year. Drivers side door shows completion of 07 83 July 1983. Still looks like something you could buy today. I am the 2nd owner. It is all original with only 77k miles. Almost showroom condition

Pioneered use of aluminum body panels and every single Porsche SUV today owes a debt of gratitude to the 928's water-cooled V8!

Just before my 61st birthday this year of April. I purchased my 2nd 928S. A 1984 Black on black with 116k miles. A One owner car. It was Well taken care of. My 1979 I purchased in April of 2022! I’m looking forward to April of 2024! 😂😂😂😂 Maybe another 928S will show up. I paid a total of $6k to get both of them. I’m too embarrassed to say how cheap I got the 1984! It was a very unique situation! I was Blessed to come upon this bargain. As with you all. I fell in love with this car when I first saw it. A true Masterpiece From Porsche!!!

G'day 928 Porsche ENTHUSIASTS, I'm 42 yrs old & have been in love with these cars since Risky Business :) *My father in law has had a 1980 red 928s 4.7 with approx 42,000 miles on it hiding in his garage & today (23rd march 2017) he said I could have it for $5,000au or 3990 U.S. if I promise to keep it and give it to my boy one day.... I can't believe it... what a great man, especially when he was offered a LOT MORE from a guy last week before he offered it to me. awesome guy, SO HAPPY!
@christopherleveck68355 жыл бұрын
So how come he's making you pay for it?
@christopherleveck68355 жыл бұрын
Just messing with you.... I first fell in love with the car in Risky Business as well. When I was 16 and got my drivers license the first thing I did with it was take a date to the movie Weird Science.which, along with a stupid magnum pi Ferrari, featured a BEAUTIFUL black 928 S4. I turned to my date and told her thats my dream car, I am going to buy one someday even if I have to wait till they are old so I could afford one. Later I was told by the guy she did marry she didn't go out with me again because she didn't think I would ever be rich and she didn't want a guy who drove used cars. BIG MISTAKE. I now have, both in showroom, better than new condition, cars that are nearly identical to both of those movie cars. My 78 was the 51st car to come off the assembly line..... My 88 S4 is a one of a kind HIGHLY modified but still VERY original looking 440+ HP monster. I LOVE these cars...My daughter has my first Porsche, a VERY nice (now) 75 2.0 liter 914 I bought when I was 19. At 45 years old myself, I can highly recommend you find one and take good care of it. It was a TRUE Supercar, in every sense of the word. I get compliments nearly every time I take mine out. The S4 in particular gets me questions like, "Is that the NEW Porsche?" all the time. And although my S4 is a little bit of a sleeper, I only feed it BMWs, the 78 will eat a lot of junk food, imports and those little noisy slammed rice burner things are usually on the menu. It doesn't have the horsepower but it's lighter and has a 5 speed that goes in and out of gear fast with a nice clutch pedal that makes it easy...... And the sound........ purrs like a kitten and roars like a panther.

@@christopherleveck6835 i mean he couldve easily sold it to others for 5-10x more than what he offered for him…at the end of the day its still a porsche and he practically gave it away for that price and the dude felt the same way. U just hatin

for anyone wondering why audio is so messed up. this was product demo video for dealers. Since original VHS take is not available for public this was recorded with another VHS tape camera recorder and then years later digitized to digital format. People you hear in background making sounds are dealership workers.

I’m still hoping they’ll make a 2-door Panamera (V8 version of course) and call it 928 as an homage (like the Boxsteris now called a 718 as a nod to the old 718 race car) to the 928.
@ottomellar67742 жыл бұрын
I've been hoping that as well, but I'm afraid that all new models are going electrical. I have no problems with EVs, but had always hoped Porsche would replace the 928 so I could buy one new. Am now considering finding a good body and electrifying it, keeping it forever.

I’d question the date. By 1986 production was the 32 valve engine, the office calendar is 1982 which is probably closer. Either way, a fun bit of history and amusing to see how proud they were of using a computer, even if it didn’t seem to do much.

+OMGWTFLOL There is nothing pre '85 about that engine. That's a 310 HP 16 valve Euro which is far more powerful than the 32 valve emission laden US model engine.

@@Torch70 Unless you live in Salem OR where there are no emissions and removed your CAT's, installed a much bigger oil cooler, swapped out your narrow stamped radiator with an all aluminum one that holds nearly two times the capacity of the original because it stretches the full width of the engine bay and the best part............the brand new GT heads you found after leaving your factory baby S4's under your pillow for the Porsche fairy....... 32 valves and nearly 450 HP means never having to say you're sorry. And to keep it all running strong, I only feed it BMW's. Nothing but the best for my baby.
