Absolutely true! I sold my n/a 11 years ago, and started looking again within the past 3-4 years, EXPECTING to pay similar prices. It seems very hard to find one that still needs A LOT of work for less than $5,000

I’d really like to have a turbo. They keep going up and up in value. I do love my very manual everything (except windows) 83 NA though.

Ive had my 86 Turbo since 2011, and its a great car that still turns heads and is surprisingly reliable.

This car has a special place in my heart. It is one of my VERY FAVORITE cars of the 1980s, even more so than some super high-end cars of the era. You know why, it's because of the perfect balance and weight distribution of the chassis (light weight four-cylinder up front, transaxle in the back), enough power, and great styling. I like the 944 turbo better than many 911s. The engine was derived from the 5.0 liter V8 used in the 928 and then cut in half, resulting in a lighter engine and then smoothed out with balance shafts. The combination of a fairly large 2.5 liter four with forced induction means a satisfying amount of torque, so you could drift this car if you wanted to. Some cars from the eighties just scream awesomeness, and the 944 turbo is one of them.

One of the raddest things about this car is that it's so affordable! even in Australia it's no where near the cost of other supercars... although the question is would i prefer this over the lotus esprit? it's definitely a lot cheaper than it and more reliable, but i absolutely love the styling and interior look of the esprit a lot more

Previous owner switched them out with 968 mirrors.

Yep. I don't have all the details on the original owner but I'm pretty sure this was his daily for a long-ass commute in and out of San Francisco. Hope to dig up some more info...

@@HelloRoad Knowing Porsche's like I do, I am going to go with a broken odometer more than somebody driving it for 30,000 miles a year for 10 years straight. I have seen quite a few free moving odometers on these types of cars so I bet the 3 shouldn't be there. It would be interesting to see if he has oil change documents that document the mileage through the life of the car.
