8:47 Amazing that this switch to double wishbone front suspension was proved possible by a student working on his master’s thesis and without it, we’d probably still be waiting. What an inspiration for young engineers. Don’t think you can’t have an impact in a big company just because you’re young and don’t have the experience yet. Good ideas stand on their own merits.

I would say Porsche are the exception, rather than the rule, to the notion of interns getting credit for ground-breaking ideas. U.S. Darwinian business culture would either have the intern’s idea laughed off, or if implemented, stolen by a higher-up executive who would be compensated accordingly.

The technical details you guys show us about the cars you review, and the insights about why the manufacturers chose to go that way, are especially relevant here as we motorheads try to understand where the GT3 belongs in the Pantheon of great sports cars. The answer proves to be complex but you two never pander or pontificate: You just call it as you see it.

I've been lucky enough to drive a few GT3's. I took a buddy's 997 GT3 RS out on track for some fun, I've had race day fun with the 991.1 GT3 RS at Las Vegas speedway, and I've gotten to drive the 991.2 GT3 touring version on the street in the hills. They're absolutely glorious cars. If you're a true driving enthusiast, it is hard to hate on Porsche.

Hard to top all of these positive comments. The “information density” of your reviews keeps going up. It’s clear that you have the greatest respect and admiration for this car, and one of the ways you show it is in the production quality of this video. I’m sure the Porsche personnel who took the time with you, on and off camera, feel that their time was well spent. This is one instance where the price of the car, even though very high, does not seem excessive considering what you get.

American or not, I would say one of your key strengths as a channel and why I subscribed from a long time back is because you go over so many technical aspects, and do most of this reviewed from underneath or hood side “as you like to call it” I don’t know a European channel which provides technical analysis as well as you guys, so well done and please never remove or dilute it down.

17:40 The discussion that follows is really important. The reason why so many modern performance cars want to kill their drivers is due to that low-end torque. It wows on a test drive, but like you say, means you need electronics to keep it manageable. I have no interest in these low-end torque monsters for this exact reason. Give me top end power any day. When I need it, it's available.

That’s a wild torque curve, totally different engine between 2-4k and 5-8.5k. I’m with you on cars that go overboard with low end torque, they’re miserable to daily.

@@dragospahontu there’s no reason you can’t daily a sport car. Hell I do it in Philly where we have god awful roads, dodging pot holes is part of the fun. My point is unless you’re trailing it you’ll be driving on public roads at some point and it’s nice when the low end is tame enough where it’s not a miserable experience to drive. Provided the gearing is set up to keep you in the powerband uptop when you want to go flat out.
