This Iconic Porsche 993 GT2 EVO was recently with us to sympathetically replace the original TAG ECU. We opted to install A Life Racing F88 ECU which is an industry leading modern electronics unit with calibration strategies that have been perfected at the highest levels of international motorsport. The F88 features multiple fuel, ignition, waste gate and turbo speed control maps plus very fast and accurate twin lambda control and adaptive knock control which all means the engines performance can be optimised whilst keeping an expensive engine safe.
With only 13 race cars built by Porsche in the late 90’s they are both rare and fast and the twin turbo engine represented the pinnacle of the fuel injected turbocharged air cooled engines before Porsche switched to the more conventional water cooled engine design.
This car is even more special because Porsche reserved its last 1998 car and used it as a development car for the planned upgrade package for the upcoming 1999 season. Changes to the GT rules at the time meant that this kit was not widely adopted so it is effectively 1 of 1 cars ever built by Porsche to this spec. The car was subsequently sold to the Swedish Porsche importer where it raced extensively and won most of the races it attended. The car is also featured in the official Porsche 993 GT Rennversion history book with a double page spread.
