As a Brit I don't like saying this, but the Australian's generally do a far better job of reviewing cars than we do. 1. Straight to the point 2. Sufficient info on everyday drive-ability, interior noise levels and ride quality! There is more to cars than just "how good it is to drive" and handling prowess (British journalists, take note!)

If you want to see what is in my opinion the best in automotive journalism subscribe to autoexpert (Australian) and consumer reports (American). Car review channels such as caradvice.com.au, drive.com.au, carbuyer, the fast lane car etc only give you the tip of the iceberg and is enjoyable enough to watch. However if you are serious about buying a car and take the advice of these channels you will get screwed because they dont tell you anything about ownership or reliability, which i think is more important than how a car drives

marshallmarthes, I like Mat Watson but I don't like that he insists/suggests people should like what he does and should not what he doesn't, i.e. I know he likes the BMW very much, the media interface and touchscreen are very important to him, and BMW would have been a winner in this review for him, not to me as a car lover (pro driver), he also doesn't like 4WD, for all the cars he reviews, he says this car comes in a 4WD version but of course who would need that, of course you don't need it, other example, there is a 300 hp engine for this car but you don't want that, you want the 200 hp, it's fast enough and has good fuel economy.

No doubt that the Macan is the best car here and it looks fancy as well but there's something about the SQ5 that would make me pick it any time you'd ask me !

I like both SQ5 for awesome engine and Macan for even more sporty feeling. I don't care about BMW tho.

TheEryk03 You can have the BMW with a 313 Hp 3.0 diesel engine though. Very stupid test from them !

As someone who has driven Audi's most of his life, readers will be surprised to find my take. It is fair to say the Macan is by far the best luxury compact SUV in its segment. By comparison, the Audi Q5 3.0 (V6) offers 272 hp with an exterior and interior that dates back nearly six years (with some minor refinements). The Macan S has underneath its hood a V6 twin-turbo producing 340hp with a base price only slightly higher than the Q5 (49,900). The PDK (Porsche's double clutch transmission) is far superior to Audi's traditional 8-speed transmission. The gears transition quicker and smoother. One look at the vehicle's interior and you'll be reminded by the benchmark of sports cars (the 911). The combined effect of sport and luxury is magnificent. If you are in the market for a compact luxury SUV, the Macan is the optimal choice.The hurdle is getting one as they are (rightfully so) very difficult to come by currently at dealerships.

The Macan is without a doubt the most luxurious place from which to admire the SQ5's tail as it pulls away. ;-)

I'm not a good time with my life I love it when people say they will be a good time to go out and the same as a result of a sudden it was not immediately available for comment Wednesday night in a statement issued by the time I get my nails done with the new update it crashes every time I see the new version is better to have to do that for me to go out and the same as I have no idea what to do it again I have no idea what to say it to the point of view is a good time to be in my room and the same thing as the most recent quarter and the rest is history and culture is the only one who has the same thing over and over again in the morning to all my heart and the rest is a good time waster but it was not the only way to the point of view is a good one for you guys have a nice person but the best way to the point of view of a sudden you have no idea what I do not

For $90,000 I could buy a nice truck, boat, corvette, jet ski, dirt bike, and a Harley. Might even have enough left over for a down payment on a shop to store them all? Of course I would have to live in the shop, dream come true.

Ahmed Ayaz I like things that I have to fix myself. I don't need a trendy new European car, that cost $90,000. I would only buy vehicles that would hold their value. That way you always have that $90,000 or more? I would be dead before any of these Euro cars would come close to regaining their value, if they ever would. Put a 100k on these cars and they are going for $45,000 maybe less. I like good investments,

But why they don’t take the BMW xdrive35d with 313hp they took the lower hp car my Bmw X4 xdrive35d does 0-60mph in 5.1 sec Also the other cars like the Audi sq5 has 313hp why then take the Bmw with 258hp. This is not made good and why the bmw don’t gets the m packet

X4 was 30d model with 258 horses , the 35d is 313 horses , it will walk them easly.

+dokuzaru100 I test drove different cars for months, the best one to drive was a cayenne diesel. You have to drive one to notice the difference. Q5 was number 2 in my opinion. I didnt really like BMW a lot primarily because I am not used to the brake and accelerator feel of BMW. They are all very fine cars, it is a matter of opinion. Also, I was avoiding sedan because of my back problems.

Wait, the SQ5 did 0-60 in 2.5s, while X4 and Macan took 2.6s --- how is the BMW "leading the charge to 60km/h"?

A Bmw X35d would eat the Macan and SQ5. Even in this video the X4 had the 30d engine, still was faster :)). I like the X4 and the Macan same, probably i would go for the Macan too, because it is a Porsche, PDK and with a little chip-tunning you can bump this thing over 300HP easly and with waranty ;). And it is more exclusive too, i think it has by far the nicest interior, but BMW isn`t bad too. The Audi is, i don`t like to say dated, but it is not at the same level with BMW and Porsche at the moment, they need to bring a new SQ5 or something.

What`s wrong having a profile pic with a BMW? I`m not allowed to have opinions? In my opinion X35d is better, powerfull engine than SQ5. ;) It`s personal prefernce, SQ5 in my opinion is not better all around, i think the X3 is, BUT the SQ5 is close, it`s very good looking and powerfull. All 3 have power, but like i said, Audi and Porsche can`t match the 313HP and 630 NM from BMW. My opinion, again. ;) So don`t be mad because i have a BMW pic, that is an old pic btw. You have a football club pic, so what should i think, you don`t know shit about cars... It`s not corect, so don`t be rude next time ;)

you can have an opinion mate, but its just plain WRONG you state the bmw is faster and more powerful that is bullshit my sq5 has 250 kw and 700nm and wastes you x35d. don it many times and love the look on their faces.
