‣ How service works:
1.) BOARDING TRAIN - All patrons boarding the train outside of the "FREE FARE" zoning area must board at 'front door' (where operator is located) to tap card or insert money to assure proof of payment. If anyone boards without making a payment outside of FREE FARE zone, the train will not disembark and transit police will be informed if needed to.
2.) STOPS BYPASSED - Be aware, all stations outside of the "FREE FARE" zoning area are only served if the stop is "Requested" via pressing the 'yellow tape' or someone is standing on the platform.
3.) SMALL PLATFORMS - If one is on-board and request to stop at one of those stations, they must disembark at the 'front door'.

I actually stumbled across these beauties. It's the first time i actually stepped foot in an underground station. I was there 2 weeks ago visiting my older brother.

I appreciate the share. It brings back memories for me. I would ride the trolley from South Hills to Steel Plaza and then return back. Simply to relax. Bad day? Hop on the "T" and head to the Burgh.

Nice! An extra point of interest: the Red Line uses classic in-street running on Broadway Ave through the Beechview neighborhood (13:37 - 18:13). This trackage dating from the trolley days was updated in 1985 for light rail. It's under reconstruction in summer 2016, due to be reopened late 9/16.

Compared to other cities, Pittsburgh is super slow but it’s also above ground so you get a nice view

Well they can’t really go plowing through residential streets. And people who ride the T, don’t just do it to get from point A to point B, people like to relax and enjoy the scenery. Born and raised in The Burgh….they built these when I was in my early teens back in the early 80s.
