Buy Anker, Belkin, or Xtorm for powerbanks, or EcoFlow, Bluetti or Xtorm for power stations. You can't go wrong with these brands.

I built my own power bank out of an on-sale $1 powerbank's charging circuit and a demolished chromebook battery, works amazing and definitely does not look like a bomb hence why I totally take it anywhere 😎

You can try to make the housing for it, i'm using only plastic jerry can and a knife. And cover it with karbon sticker after it. Its look so nice for me

@@Pearloryx Never heard of them. Xiaomi and their ZMI sub-brands however are also a great choice and are the best bang for your buck. I personally use the Mi Power Bank 3 Pro which is at 20,000mAh and has 45W USB-PD charging. It doesn't heat up much even while charging at full speed, which will be better in terms of battery degradation in the long run, since some powerbanks like the ones that charge at 65W can and will overheat, and conventional lithium batteries inside them don't like to overheat while charging.

I suspected this was the case, too, with some of those power banks. If you compare a powerbank from a reputable brand you can see that sites like Aliexpress sometimes use inflated milliamp hour numbers.

I brought portable battery bank for around £11 that was advertised as 10,000mAh, and tested the capacity came out has ~5,382mAh. I were curious into finding out how bad scam power bank was, but turned out to be somewhat a bargin if you ignore the fake capacity ratings in the listing, and the cell itself is quite chunky boi. Sadly the power bank's circuitry abused the cell in ways that could've caused a fire so buyer be warned!

@@Mama_Bear524 because they were really good and had great customer service. But now my opinion has changed because of a spying scandal with Eufy their daughter company. Maybe you can buy their stuff if you don't want to take a principled stance against them, but I don't recommend buying anything from them that has network connectivity even if they say they don't collect any data.

Maybe they’re connecting 2 batteries in parallel and using a boost converter circuitry to power the load? But that’s really inefficient tho, Idk I’m just saying :)

It depends on the voltage tho, but in general you’re right… sometimes they just use a different voltage… like apple MagSafe power bank for example, it’s not as weak as it looks

If iPhone, use a bobby pin or toothpick (or similar size) with alcohol and gentle pressure trying to pull it out. If you have needle-nose tweezers those work too.

If android… you’re probably screwed with how fragile the ports are, but it’s possible with the same method mentioned above. You just have to be extra careful not to bend/break the charger ports in Micro USB/C

Hey here's a life hack. So buy a DeWalt battery, but the adapter that clips on the battery for the heated jacked it also has USB charging ports on it. Works for me

Also, 20.000 mAh (for example) is only for 3,7 volts, so charging via 5 volts USB it's only 14.800 mAh

The only power bank I've ever purchased that I can confidently say is the capacity that it states it the vault c by ridge monkey I have charged my phone over 15 maybe 20 time before it run out of charge the only downside is it was a little over £200

Actuly it only 11,850mah Watt hours are millamp hours x 1,000 divided by volatage and most battery packs are 5volts

it's less than stated on the cells as well, some is lost to conversion from 3.2-4.2v that the cell is at to 5V that's the output voltage.

The box says 30,800mAh and if one battery is 16,000mAh then having 2 in there would be 32,000mAh which is slightly over the said amount. So this one isn't a scam?

I bought 2 off Amazon, not sure the charging power. Each one will charge my phone 4 times off one charge. It does take a long time to charge the power bank but for under $50 for both I’m happy.

I got a power bank at the nearby market with a solad panel that said 50000mAh, but the box was nearly empty. Fortunately i found a large battery at the same place (for around 1/4 dollars) that bately fits inside the case. Now I can charge my phone to max nearly 3 times.

You got scammed. A 20000mA will charge a phone about 4 times, so your battery isn't anywhere near 50000mA.

The fact that you have to assume the voltage is the main issue for me. 1000mAh is nothing at 1V but a lot at 24V. I would prefer we use Wh for universal understanding.
