Grew up in the suburb next to the original dog house(Villa Park). I can tell you Chicago fought even bringing in Portillos for years as they were considered like a "low brow suburban place". They didnt open but a single location in Chicago until mid 1990's. They only added 2 more in recent years. The suburbs have dozens though.

They have some healthy options too :P The Greek Salad and the Garden dog are things I go for. I was like, what's in the Garden dog and it's like mostly beans so the color is pretty close to a hot dog. Plus, they grill it so it's nice and smokey. If your watching healthy though, that Chop salad is tasty and popular but not healthy.
