The "little church" you saw across from Warner Park is the Methodist Church Hall. When the Methodists outgrew it, they set about building the newer and much bigger Methodist Church is to the left (west) of it and directly north of the Anglican Church. The old church became the Basseterre (pronounced "Bas-Tear) Boys' School. If you had gone just a little further up Victoria Road you would have seen another "little church". That is the Anglican Church Hall and, I think, the original Anglican Church. The old church became the Basseterre Girls' School. A modern co-educational elementary school was built early this century and both buildings were returned to their respective owners. Both Church Halls are used for church events such as bible study, town hall meetings, concerts, fairs, plays, parties, seminars, workshops, fund-raisers and other events. The names "Old Boys'/Girls' School" are used interchangeably with Methodist/Anglican Church Hall for the respective buildings.

Thanks so much for taking us to this island. You've given your viewers a rare look at Basseterre, St. Kitts. Makes me wonder what life is like for Kittitians, their culture, music, art, history, and so on. Cruise ships often seem so huge when docked in a harbor of small island nations. Nothing quite so massive is anywhere to be found nearby. It would take awhile to get used to seeing them there. They are likely the biggest man-made structures in the Caribbean region.

Loved your walking tour. The Independence Square used to be the old Slave Market (Glad its gone). The Co-Cathedral Catholic Church Of the Immaculate Conception - well, you briefly showed a plaque in the entrance. That plaque is my Maternal Grandmother's Family "Delisle". My Grandfather Joseph Sappienne and his brother Arthur Delisle owned/operated the only Apocathery on the Island at that time on Central Street. Still have family there...Delisle Walwyn & Co. Ltd. · Liverpool Row, 00265 Basseterre, Saint Kitts, and Nevis.

I think I counted about 6 buildings the structural designs for which were done by yours truly ;) Brisbane McGrath engineering !! The pier you guys entered on was actually the second more beefed-up design done by a Canadian company after the first one was destroyed by a hurricane during its construction.

@PortMonkeys Жыл бұрын
We don't know, but we found this on the web: "I'm pretty sure you'd have to go to the Customs House at the Deepwater Port in Bird Rock (about 3/4's of a mile east of the cruise ship dock) to get your passport stamped. You'll be able to see the location of the deepwater dock from your ship, it's just across the bay. I think hours are 8AM to 4PM." Anthony Blackman, the island is not boring. As you heard the guy said it's Sunday and that's how it's on a day like that because people go to church on that day, and no one works on a Sunday. We serve God. That's who we are. Monday to Saturday, especially Saturday is very busy. So it's not boring.

Today - Monday 16th May, 2022 - is the second (2nd) day in Family Month 2022 which is now being observed by the citizens and residents of The Federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis (TFSKN). With pleasure, I gladly consider it my civic duty to encourage citizens and residents of The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis to campaign hard for then VOTE for the eight candidates who will be contesting the upcoming General Elections for the People’s Labour Party - PLP. Dr. the Hon. Timothy Sylvester Harris is by far the best person to lead TFSKN. Under the leadership of Dr. the Hon. Timothy S. Harris the Federation continues to make great strides and accomplishments particularly in the areas of Finance specifically as it relates to the National Economy, National Security, Legal Affairs, Industry & Trade, Health, Tourism and Education just to name a few ministries. Please strongly reject, clearly neglect, blatantly avoid and out rightly refuse Mark Brantleyy, Alexis Jefferss, Eric Evelynn, Jonel Powelll, Lindsay Grantt and Shawn Richardss who are all traitors to the maximum and who are fully loaded with self greed and ignorance. Family and friends please also DO NOT SUPPORT any candidate who will be running for The St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Partyy because these people are equally not fit to be in government. Therefore, kindly VOTE for the 8 candidates of the People’s Labour Party - PLP. Once you campaign hard for the People’s Labour Party (PLP) and VOTE for the People’s Labour Party (PLP) to ensure that Dr. the Hon. Timothy Sylvester Harris remains in the office as Prime Minister of The Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Prosperity agenda will be advanced and executed to immensely benefit person in lowest economic group. Hence, please VOTE for the People’s Labour Party - PLP. I thank you.
