Its just simple take a photo and draw(loomissss) over it in your pc or phone with your imagination 🤔

Yeah Loomis is like a more advanced version of "draw square grids on your reference photo" then you just follow where the lines are in grids like a jigsaw puzzle. But of course you still need to learn how to shade using different grades of pencils between HB, 6B and 8B and using white pencils for highlights

Great technique. Could you explain how you get all of your measurements for placement of eyes, nose mouth, etc. I'm struggling with face element placement

Just buy the book Figure Drawing for All it's Worth. The Loomis Method isn't in this video.

Didn't you guys watch the video, in the beginning he drew the Loomis reference lines on the reference photo and then draw those same lines back on the paper. Everything is measured so that the drawing can be proportional

Great demonstration and beautiful results! I’m a bit confused on the measurements you used to place the eyes, nostrils, lips, etc. The gross anatomy I can figure out. It is the finer details that throw me off. Really a great instructional video. Thanks for this.

Hm, 'weird' pencils... never seen those before... Need to start doing this also again... been awhile though..... Nitpicking, the original, the left eye look bit weird.... nice tip, I learned from my old artteacher, look the image from a mirror. People tend to have a slight 'drift' either right or left handed, showing a slight left/right 'deviation'... you normally don't see it, but the moment you look it in a mirror, you spot it right away.

The one thing you left out was where exactly to place the hairline, nose line and chin line? if your circle was.. say 8 inches, where do you place those lines?

For black darker shades he use staedler Mars lunagraph black pencils.
