Mark this is going to be one exciting history journey,,,, my favourite place spent hour upon hour as a kid here,,,, summer Sundays picnic on the beach,,,40s 1950s when all the "tourists were up north" lol,,,,, i really don't know a lot of our local history so this will be an education trip my have told you about "incline cottage",,,, andMr Leek my dads friend ,,,,,, the incline at the approach into Portreath on the left by the bend past the pub by the set back cottages, there was a RAF signal tracking station at the top of that incline,,,,, more to reveal i reckon ,,, your drone flight amazing look forward to when you do mine,,,your a master at aerial photography,,,,,,,,Edwin dodging the rain think i started this farm malarky the wrong time what need webbed feet quack quack

At 14:30 and 16:20 you can see the round base of the steam powered crane that was used to lower massive timbers into slots in the narrow entrance to the second basin. In rough weather the timbers would be lowered to protect the vessels moored in the harbour. You can just make out the iron slots in the wall the timbers would rest in. My great grandfather ran the crane until he died.

Yes, I am related. A way back mind. And I love engineering and trains. It must be why.
