I am a therapist and regularly ask my clients to use positive affirmations the help change their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. One thing I would encourage is to not only be mindful of how you speak to and about yourself but also how you speak to and about your children. I think you are incredible parents and also have to admit that whenever I hear you say “you’re so naughty” to one of the kids I worry about how they internalize that and then say to themselves. Thank you for sharing about mental health! Ellie, I hope you have found a wonderful therapist in Logan. If you’re looking for one I’ve got a referral for you. 😊

YES! I struggle so much with insecurity and it comes out in negative self-talk and negative thoughts. My hubby noticed and said, I'm gonna stand with you in this and you have to repeat these declarations over yourself. So every night he helps me with my declarations and it has done WONDERS for how I look at myself. So glad to hear you ladies be more kind to yourselves! ♥️ You ladies are beautiful in and out!

Omgeeeez girls I needed this today. I have been under so much stress between work and family. I really believe Our Heavenly Father sent me this video today. I have been helping take care of my in-laws for a while now and today I just came home instead of going to their house. I have 6 sister inlaws and they are not helping at all. Plus my job is really stressful bit in a good way. Ellie CRY hard when you want. Bonnie you are so right about serving. BIG HUGS to you both and thank you for this.

I feel like God used both of you to get this message to me because he knew that I wouldn't learn it any other way...and I watch you girls and your channels on the daily. Thank you for this truth🙏 I have had a negative person in my life for years, and I've been affected by it so much but have never ended the friendship because I didn't know how. My husband pointed out how it's been affecting me, and I've learned after this video that I really do need to make the change because if I don't nothing else will change. Love this! I’m a teacher and I often hear my students say negative things about themselves. Children follow by example and say things they hear adults say and I knew it needed to stop. I know I say negative things about myself a lot and I became more aware of that. I found an interesting tedtalk to watch with my students that talked about positive self affirmation and it made a difference. Still a daily challenge but they realized what it did to their mental health and self esteem. Also whenever I’m comparing myself or unhappy about a situation, I tell myself that I have a good life, not perfect, but have achieved success despite my background and situations. Makes a huge difference when you are positive.

More women need to practice this. I’m one of those women. The biggest thing for me is learning that I can’t control others or what they do to me but I CAN control how I react to it. Here where we live there is so much negativity. I kind of think different parts of the world actually has a mindset of its own. I have been other places and seen more positivity in the hardest of situations. There’s so much to be learned and when you get to the point that you think you have learned it all then your mind just sits, feelings are turned off and you don’t grow. We have to keep growing. Thank you so much for all the hard work you girls do in helping others everywhere.

Hi! I have watched this video so many times. I just want to say that it is SO important that your Christian viewers hear that you are followers of Christ, as well. Especially those of us who are struggling, as Christians. It's wonderful to see and hear that we're not alone, as followers of Christ, in having negative thoughts or overwhelming anxiety. Thank you for being open as you can, especially on the internet where there is a lot of hurtful comments. God bless.

I am going to try and feel as beautiful as my husband thinks I am. I will refuse to accept anything but a loving relationship with my daughter by marriage. I am not going to replace food for FEELING-even when it's heartbreak. I will say thank you at the end of everyday in my journey of life and just remind myself I will not live forever-don't waste a moment of the blessing-look for the reason God has brought me to that place-TRUST HIS PROMISE of guiding me to where I need to go. THANK YOU to you both-you're changing women for the better-one vlog at a time. 💛💛

I love this video so much! The tongue is so powerful. We need to speak life over our children too - tell them they are beautiful and confident and brave and smart. They will become what they hear and what they believe. And they are learning from us! If our little girls grow up hearing mama saying, “I hate my hair,” or “I’m so fat,” they’re learning to think those things of themself too. We need to teach them that we love ourselves because we are beautifully and wonderfully made. 💕

Yes! Yes! Yes! I couldn't agree more with this! Your thoughts shape your reality. Two people could be in the exact same situation but the way they describe it or relate to it is totally different. Only because they choose which thoughts to focus on. So, in any situation we are faced with, we always have a choice on how we show up. That is the choice each of us must make everyday. To focus on the positive, to declare the positive and very soon that positive is the reality. If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change!!!! Scary, true and up lifting.

This totally reminds me of a technique my therapist taught me which is called self compassion. We are so quick to criticize ourselves when we make mistakes and then look to others and hold them responsible to make us feel better. We know exactly what we want those other people to say, and if they say the wrong thing or if it’s not the right wording we get ticked. So self compassion focuses on holding ourselves accountable for making us feel better. Basically you think of something that really makes you upset, find where in your body you feel that pain (wether it be your heart, your head, your stomach..), place your hand there, and tell yourself what you’d say to someone else in your situation or what it is you want to hear like “it’s ok” “I know it’s hard” “you’re doing the best you can and that’s good enough”... love yourself and be compassionate.

In the 23rd Psalm when David writes "You (Jesus) prepare a table for me, in the presence of my enemies" It reminds me that Jesus has a place for me, an intimate place for he and I to sit together. And for a long time I allowed the enemy to sit at the table and I listened to that negative voice instead of the voice of Christ in my life. But when I realized I was giving the enemy a seat at my table where Jesus was supposed to be, my life changed. Jesus wants to show of His glory in our lives, thats why even in the midst of the chaos, he is there preparing a place for us. The book Goliath Must Fall was a game changer for me. As well as the Passion City podcast. I felt weights lifted and chains broken as I began to listen to the voice of truth in Jesus and believe what He says about me. That I am chosen, I am beloved, I am enough by the grace of Christ.

Thank you both so much for this video. I’m also going through a really hard time. And it’s so difficult to open up about this because there’s still such a stigma around mental health and being seen as “weak” or lesser than for seeking help. But every time a strong, beautiful person speaks out, it inspires everyone else to see it IS normal, and it can get better.

I really needed this today! It’s been a rough few days. I have one more year of college before applying to a nursing program. I had some slips causing my gpa to not be amazing. I have a 3.3 but the average is 3.6. I felt mad at myself. But.: my grandma always tells me something “your thoughts are not your own. They’re God’s!” Every time I think of that I always know I wouldn’t ever tell god that he made something dumb, ugly, etc. so why should I do that to myself, his creation? It always helps me:) maybe it’ll help someone else

I just have no words! This is coming at the best time. I have been in transition with myself and trying to take better care of myself. Thank you so much for your honesty and vulnerability, it’s EVERYTHING. So proud of you both and excited for you. My affirmations as a rough draft: -I am great at my job. Sometimes I compare myself or get down on myself if something doesn’t go as planned. I want to remind myself that I am meant to be doing what I am doing, I am good at it. -I actively think before I speak. Sometimes I don’t think enough before I speak and I can hurt people or leave them unsettled. I want to work on this and be intentional with my choice of words. -I treat my partner as a king. I have taken him for granted and been thoughtless at times and I want to put the effort in to serve him and support him.

I absolutely love your videos. Thank you for making them. It feels like you two and Katie always come in the right time to remind me about things in my life that either need to be changed or I need to focus on more. Because sometimes, or very often, we struggle. Struggle with life and anxiety and other people's opinions that shouldn't matter to us but they do. Making a change within yourself is much harder then going around and blaming others for your misery, but it's soo soo worth it, and it's the most effective way of changing your life. Start within. So thank you for these gentle reminders, keep bringing them to us. Lots of love xxx

Teared up watching this. I LOVE my life and feel really content, but I don’t feel my complete self and struggle with my emotions. I’m grateful, but I really want to improve some things not only for the sake of myself, but others too. I love y’all, what you stand for, and what you do. You’re making a positive impact in this world. Keep up the good work. ❤️

This video couldn't have come at a better time in my life. I have been struggling with keeping positive because of colleagues not being understanding of circumstances and adapting to them. This video has shown me that the negativity I am feeling is just negative self talk and now I can really learn from this to change the way I do things and know I'm not alone

This is 100% relatable. THANK YOU for posting it even though you felt vulnerable. I'm going to allow myself to love and nourish this 'new looking body' that gave me my son.

I can relate to this video so much. I've been working out 6 days a week for about 3 months (80 day obsession by BeachBody) and I see huge changes in myself in my body and my mind. I was not happy with myself before I pushed myself to stay motivated. I'm so proud I made it this far (day 53) and I've even gotten my friends and family motivated just by my actions. I'm different towards my husband (in a good way). My eating could be better but I'm not going to beat myself up about it because when I do it murders my workout motivation so I've learned to go with it. I'll eat what I want in moderation and my results are slower but still showing.

THANK YOU!!!!! I Cannot say it enough! Omg I needed this. I used to have a recording of my affirmations and I set it as my alarm clock and woke up to positive affirmations every day! This was a great reminder to make a new, updated one and get back to it! Love you guys so much!

I want to thank you for being so vulnerable. I also want to say that I don't think it's a coincidence that this video came to be at this time. I have been feeling really down. Major changes are happening ( empty nest, loss of a marriage) and trying to figure out who I am now that I'm not needed as a mom or a wife). There was a lot said that I related to and you are so right about serving others. It's so important to reaffirm especially when there aren't people around you. I don't have friends and need to make major changes. Thank Bonnie, Thanks Ellie.

This has been the most helpful and motivational video to date! Just taking notes whilst watching the video and I have 4 pages full of notes and personal affirmations. I will definitely be recording these and totally agree with Bonnie about the power of listening to your own voice out loud! Thank you for being vulnerable and so open and honest. Thank you for being an inspiration. Thank you for being you! ♥️
