Looks like he got confused which side he was on. And even if were speaking 'for' positive discrimination, I found his argument very scattered and lacking a concrete point. It sounded like a bunch of examples picked off of tumblr

As a blacky, from a single mother benefit bum family, all I did is work harder than my peers now i'm at the top. If someone mediocre gained my power due them also being from a disadvantaged start, then my effort would have been in vain. It was because i was told I had no chance to succeed by my family that I know they are full of b/s. Push back makes us stronger and better, not charity.

The best part of his speech was when he finished. No offense to him, I’m sure he is a genuine good human being, but he shouldn’t do public speaking unless he trains himself better. But he also deserves respect for at least trying to do what he is bad at. Good step.

This presentation is a good argument for having your argument on paper.

he looks like a man- but talks like a child and has a slight speech impediment. perhaps he is a result of positive discrimination,.

I think the point he's making is tongue-in-cheek. That the "racism" people complain about is itself a form of positive discrimination so why is modern woke-ism any better?

K. So I'm not crazy. I see I'm not the only one who was confused. Unless he's pretending to be this stupid as an illustration for his argument.

It's an echo chamber. The only one who breaks the echo is Katie and see how the rabid audience react. Last Bastion of Free Speech my ass.

It's clear that this speaker does not know what "Positive Discrimination" means. It means exactly the opposite of what he thinks it means, and therefore he is not an opposition speaker, but a proposition speaker. If this speaker, and the two student speakers opening the debate, are examples of the quality of an Oxford education gets you nowadays, then the administration should be having an emergency meeting immediately, because their students are graduating stupid and it's going to tarnish Oxford's prestigious reputation. This is what "Positive Discrimination" results in: A person of lesser intellect invited to speak at Oxford not based on his merit or intelligence, but because of the colour of his skin.

+Anon Wibble The speaker misinterpreted what positive discrimination means. What he thinks it means is the opposite of its true definition. So while he's arguing in the opposition to the proposal, his speech is actually in favour of positive discrimination, not opposed to it.

But the speaker is supposed to be arguing in opposition to positive discrimination, and he failed to do so, because he misinterpreted what positive discrimination meant.

He knows what it means just fine. His point was that positive discrimination is still discrimination. People could just as easily discriminate 'positively' in favour of majorities and the status quo. Positive discrimination is to discriminate in favour of a certain group rather than against it. If I give preference to a certain group, that is positive discrimination. If I avoid hiring that group, that is negative discrimination. The whole concept assumes the preference will go to certain groups we perceive as disadvantaged but the process is the same either way. Hence why he summarises saying he doesn't 'believe in' positive discrimination. To him, it's all just discrimination. He is pointing out the hypocrisy in trying to end discrimination by condoning discrimination.

I don't know what this video is about but Sunny Hundal has another youtube video titled, "pregnant woman blasts anti-abortion protesters outside a clinic in London" which he describes as the, "Best smack-down of anti-abortion protesters I've seen." Of course, he has disabled comments there . . . so I will comment here. Apparently the "best anti-abortion argument" is that if you allow a mother to kill the baby at 10-weeks it's better than allowing the mother to kill the baby at birth, at 1 year, etc. Then follows an argument about making women who were raped and pregnant feel guilty for having an abortion, which argument says the rape should be blamed on the baby at least to a degree that requires the baby get killed. As far as guilting is concerned, the demonstration is at most giving awareness. It is better to allow the woman to see what she is going to do before she does it. If there is something to feel guilty of she should reason through it before making any decisions that could make her feel guilty. If there were nothing wrong going on, no one would feel guilty in the first place or can make you feel guilty. The camera is in a public place, and "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" is not in the law and shouldn't be applied exclusively to any organization, etc. Apparently Sunny Handal doesn't have much logic to work off of and he doesn't want to hear anything but what tickles his ears. Murder is murder. Get a better argument.
