I just love seeing this time in your lives when you have been able to just put your own lives on hold and help someone else fulfill a dream. This was special and I believe you were meant to be there at Manavgat at a time when Sehr needed help. It's like you two are her angels and you took that project under your wings and help it fly. And now, those turtles will have many guardian angels watching over them and helping them survive and flourish. I am so over joyed to see the Dekafok turtle rescue center come to be. Thank you Chris and Marianne and everyone else out there who helped.

I've been welling up with this. Not surprising as did with all your vlogs etc on Seher and this project. The power of people to do good always amazes me. There is so much doom and gloom, let's shout about all the positives too. The goodness, generosity, hard work and sheer tenaciousness of the utterly amazing Seher, then yourselves and all those who have come on board in so many different capacities to help is such a wonderful, powerful thing. You were in the right place at the right time to help Seher and use the influence you have for so much good. To see the transformation in such a few months makes my heart swell. Long may this continue and here's hoping Sehers sacrifices and hard work help in making this recognised and funded nationally so she gets a living wage. I salute you all. ❤️🐢🇹🇷🌍

Amazing achievement from everyone from one chance meeting on the beach , so glad to have been able to donate and will continue to do so in order that Saheer and all those who help her can continue to move forward . With the world focused on climate change this beach now needs to be protected by the Turkish authorities as soon as possible as this eco system is a part of the large wheel that will drive forward change for the greater good. Thank you to you both for making this happen by highlighting her plight on your channel , you were all destined to meet and do great things.

Absolutely astonishing what you all have done! Big thanks to Chris and Marianne for helping Seher setup the Sea Turtle Rescue Centre! Congrats to all involved! Seems to me that this was all made possible from private peoples donations with little or no governmental help! What I see as the plan going forward (as a suggestion) is to seek out larger corporations to donate goods & funds to be used to keep the Centre operational for the years ahead. Again well done and congrats!

I am very late to this but it's an amazing story. I have made a donation today. This area is also dear to my heart, I discovered it 30 years ago and spent 15 years visiting. There was a lot less tourism then. Haven't been for years now due to disability but miss it like crazy.

We get hail storms like that every year in Texas! And the high winds, tornadoes and rain too. And, imagine being on the road with that going on, because I have been more than once and it’s the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced!

On a personal note Chris I felt a real connection at the beginning,a couple of years ago I broke my ankle in Dalyan so you have my sympathy and wishes for a fast recovery.Also we were on a bus from Kalkan to Fethiye some years ago when we experienced a similar storm.The driver tried desperately to get under trees for protection as he was afraid of hailstones breaking the windows.The stones were as big as tennis balls but typical of Turkey ten minutes later the sun was blazing once more. Marianne,that is the first time I have heard concern in your voice,even on the terrible Georgian road back to the border crossing you kept your cool.

Hi Wendy - yep it was a frightening experience - I was really scared that Trudy would be damaged .... As you can imagine .... I love her xx 🌺🚐😘
