Hey, just needed to say... Manson has NOT been proven guilty by Evan's claims, or of the other women that jumped on the bandwagon. I believe that his lawsuit against her for defamation will speak truths. I've done a lot of research about the claims, and it seems like BS. Otherwise, great video!

I'm sorry you're getting some invasive/infantilizing comments about your pregnancy and love of horror. You are fully capable of taking care of yourself and knowing your own limits, and it's no one on the internet's business to be questioning what you should and shouldn't do while pregnant. I wish you and the baby well!!

Sophia h is obviously someone who has asked one of the questions pertaining to pregnancy and wanted to clarify her intentions. There was nothing to be sorry about for people asking questions in a respectful manner. Sarah didn’t seem to be offended by or take the questions as invasive, just more perplexed which makes sense as she’s a first time mother.

I went to a deli I liked frequenting, and on this night, there was a new manager on the floor, and he had this film playing, while people were just casually trying to eat their roast beef sandwiches and such. I was so disturbed both by the choice in film for the venue, but also because I was flippin pregnant and what the heck is this, in front of my mac and cheese!? No way would I watch it again, too many conflicting emotions.

100% agree on Jeepers Creeprs. There’s a suspense movie I haven’t seen and will NEVER see, not because it’s a bad movie but because it’s one of my BIGGEST fears. It’s called Awake (2007) It’s about a man who goes into surgery and while he’s supposed to be unconscious, he feels EVERYTHING that the doctors are doing to him and they unfortunately can’t tell that he’s in pain feeling everything. Based on a true story. I just refuse to see it lol

It does make you think about everything concerning what happens in the movie.

@@stephaniealicea9782 It’s basically a horror/nuisance take on Christianity I think (characters are supposed to represent god, mother nature, Jesus, and mankind). Very interesting but definitely not something I’ll watch again. Also, slight spoiler and major trigger warning: There’s a scene in the film where a baby gets brutally torn apart and partially eaten. The death is off screen, but it’s gorey nonetheless. I think that’s the reason why most people avoid this film. That could’ve been why Jennifer Lawrence was disturbed by the film too (since she’s also a mother).

I love watching bad horror movies. They manage to scare from time to time, but seeing the bad CGI/ writing/ acting/etc really helps calm me down. Like (this might be a bit controversial) “Annabelle: Creation”. I watched it with my cousins and we had a few laughs because the “hurrdurr, horror movie characters are stupid and my dumb decisions”, but we still had some moments where we were scared shitless! Also, maybe it’s just me, but before I watch a horror movie, I like to watch behind the scenes footage (like watching them put on make up or see how they filmed stunts). It helps me feel less scared and appreciate the small details the make up team and film crew out into the movie. “Oh, I know how that scene was filmed. They used wires to lift that character! It looks so cool in the movie!”

You can watch whatever you enjoy. Don't feel pressured into watching anything you're not com with. On horror channels, inevitably you will get those people who will try to tell you that horror must be brutally extreme and disturbing, and if you don't enjoy them you should "stick with Disney movies" or similar types of comments. Just ignore them. They are usually teens or people who are desperate to prove how tough they are to everyone. People can enjoy whatever they want.

Love that you mentioned Jeepers Creepers on this list. I too saw the first one at a time where Salva’s crimes weren’t common knowledge or widely publicized and were something that required lots of online digging to uncover. It was some time after the release of the second one that I found out, and at that point completely separated myself from anything Salva ever did (or ends up doing in the future). I don’t own any JC movie in my collection, nor will I ever support one. I totally understand the change in your tolerance for certain horror. My bday is Halloween, so I’ve always loved horror movies. I can’t recall if I was sensitive about pregnancy/body horror while pregnant. I don’t think I was. However, after my baby was born things changed. I absolutely had no ability to tolerate any horror/movies involving young children being hurt or scared. It took me until my daughter was about 8-10yo for that visceral disgust to fade completely. As my daughter got older, and I slowly exposed her to certain horror movies she now loves them too! She’s 17yo now and we just went and saw, “Smile,” together. She also raved about Barbarian, but I haven’t seen it yet. So, congrats on your pregnancy! Maybe you’ll get lucky like me and end up with a buddy to watch horror with in a few years! 👻😄

Anyways I was wondering, don’t you think, a couple years from now, when you’re not pregnant anymore and all the “experience” has passed you’ll be able to watch all of these again? Or are these “NO” for life? I couldn’t imagine thinking “I’ll never watch these movies I enjoyed EVER again” so very curious on what you think of it? Maybe someday you’ll be able to handle them better? Or it’s a hard no? 😮

I didn’t want to rewatch/watch anything like Mother! or Goodnight Mommy (Austrian film) while pregnant/for awhile after. But now almost 3 years later I’m back to enjoying all themes/sub genres of horror. I think it comes down to hormonal changes, or at least for me it did. I hear you! I saw it in theather years ago when I wasn't pregnant. I recently saw it again a few months ago and the scene that really got me was when she hits the Annabelle doll on the crib, throws it, looks again and sees her baby lifeless on the floor. I grabbed my 6 month old daughter and held her tight after that scene. Seeing babies/kids get hurt in movies gives me a whole new reaction now that I'm a mom myself.

I’m not a mom, but I do have a brother who’s 8 years younger than me. When he was still a baby, I couldn’t stomach seeing babies in pain or crying in film because I would think of my brother. Sometimes, I’d run over to check up on him. Edit: I love horro, but anything involving young children getting hurt is a big no for me. There’s a scene in Doctor Sleep where a kid gets tortured and his screams felt so real and gut-wrenching, I had to skip ahead.

I always find this topic so interesting, because one person's "never watch again" can be another person's absolute fave. For example, I really like Dumplings! Seen it multiple times, and I'm so happy that it's unlikely that Hollywood will ever touch it. They better not🤭🥟 The movie I haven't been able to make myself watch twice is Midsommar. Awesome, very cool, but has my **specific** triggers in it so I saw 1/4 of it behind my hands lol. I want to change that this year...I think I can do it

This was such a good list! I'm not a person that wants children but I find it really interesting the way that pregnancy can affect your preferences for things like horror movies. It'll be interesting to see how your opinions change once you do have a tiny human

I'm glad you brought up the Jeepers Creepers controversy(reality) because I hadn't known until, I think, this year! I also draw a hard line with things like that. The idea of separating art from the artist shouldn't be a hard one with topics like these.

I had the same experience with Mother. I actively seek out disturbing movies, specifically horror, so it was right up my alley. However, it got to me on a completely different level. I think only a couple other movies made me THAT physically and mentally anxious, and not in an enjoyable way at all. I actually had to stop it at one scene to catch my breath. I would like to revisit it at some point, since it's been quite a few years, but I don't know if I'm ready to put myself through that again.

While this is definitely not horror related, this does remind me of the story my mom gave me when I was a baby. Back in the day before VHS became a thing, sometimes Disney would re-release their movies into theaters and my mom took me to see Bambi when I was a baby (I am her first born). My mom hadn't seen the movie yet either. Well that famous death scene actually traumatized my mom and made her cry (she was only 21 at the time so she was still young herself). My mom was a lot more emotional when pregnant and still had those issues after becoming a mother, she did say there were certain things she couldn't watch anymore.

My horror watching changed as a Dad after the kids were older. I got rid of my Horror VHS as the covers were very graphic. My wife watched whatever she felt like when pregnant and no harm was done. Later as the kids got older they figured out what horror they liked. Awesome Channel.❤

I'm really glad to hear the updated thoughts on Mother! - admittedly when I was new to your channel I watched your review of it and was really off put by the review (I'd seen it in theatres, and am an introvert who also struggles with anxiety, and at the time I felt like it wasn't fair to blanket statement say that if you have anxiety you shouldn't watch it. I understand that it was a very visceral reaction for you though). It's one I've really gone back and forth on if I'm ready to rewatch it myself.

I saw Incident at a Ghost Land a while ago, and it was really well done, but it’s obviously VERY disturbing. I actually rewatched this movie which I never do because it was just so different, so it’s definitely understandable as to why u ain’t watching this movie again. That first twist was so insane, but yeah…it’s a lot.

Mother! is the movie I never want to see again either. It's incredibly upsetting to see this one character go through such unimaginable horrors and acts of depravity with absolutely no positive resolve whatsoever. I get what the film was going for but it's not something I would ever put myself through ever again.

I played "Amnesia" 1 while pregnant with my 2nd. Admittedly, I paused and saved at moments when it became "too much", but I am a lover of horror, since I was 5, and for me I knew what I could (and could not) handle at the time. We are all different, we know our limits. ASK me to play Amnesia now and I'd tell you "hell no", I tried and couldn't make it past 30 mins, 10 years later. A true testimony to the fact that we all change, and age doesn't make a different at all lol.

With movies like mother I found the subtitles are helpful for getting the meanings. For example the characters aren't called by their actual titles in the movie. So while you can see in the credits it's easier to get out pin the first watching if you know who they're supposed to be while the movie outs playing

I appreciate your opinions and can totally understand. We watch horror films for fun and entertainment, if you can’t get that from a movie there’s no point in watching it no matter how good it is or how many people love it. It’s great that we all have different tastes and comfort levels in media.

I think I will never watch Aster again. It's weird. I can't even put my finger on what it is that unsettles me so much . Midsommer was so different from Hereditary, and yet, it's the same ambiance, like an aftertaste, that I couldn't get rid of for ages. In the theatre, I felt fine, but the films repeated on me like I'd swallowed a whole garlic clover raw, but for months .

I saw Mother! on an airplane. I hadn't heard anything about it and was genuinely rocked by it and on the verge of an anxiety attack- which is a reaction I seldom have to movies. Being stuck in a small seat with a bunch of strangers trying to hide my distress was the absolute woooorst. I do still love the movie though. I think it's heartbreaking and I unfortunately resonated heavily with the relationship dynamic.

One synonym I like for "disturbing movies" is "extreme cinema." It may be common for movies to show situations that would be extreme in real life, but in the context of the horror genre the label becomes much more specific.

My tolerance for horror has changed as I got older. The last one I saw in a theatres was years ago. I walked out of it within 20 minutes. I can no longer watch them in theatres or TV. Only on a pad where I can pause, cover the screen and mute so I can get through it. I love the thrill of horror but I must be in control of how I view them.

I’m still mad at this one youtuber who made a video about disturbing films that just casually showed the ending of Inside right when I was getting really interested to check it out.
