I've been in vision therapy for over a year but they think there is something underlying preventing progress. I have had vestibular system tested and apparently there is very little "off" and vestibular physiotherapy had mixed results. I have also seen a chiropractor and massage therapist for my neck, but if anything it makes my dizziness, oscillopsia, nausea, blurry vision worse. What should I be doing?

If chiropractor and massage makes your dizziness and visual issues worse, this is usually a strong indication that the issue is actually in your neck. So you should KEEP GOING. Most people believe that an increase in symptoms is a bad thing - it's not. It's actually just a sign that you are in the right area. The thing that is likely underlying that is preventing your progress in vision therapy is neck dysfunction. Your neck tells your eyes how to move. If your neck is a problem, it will give abnormal signals and your eyes will move abnormally. When vision therapy isn't working to correct this, you can pretty much guarantee that it's either a vestibular or neck issue that's holding things back. Based on your increased symptoms with chiro and massage, NECK is the likely culprit here. Keep getting treatment - the reason it flares things up is because you have an issue there - the more you go, the less the side effects will be and the more progress you'll start to make on your vision therapy! Let me know how it goes...I bet you'll see huge gains :)

@@CompleteConcussions my son had an assault at age 11 1/2 yrs. Every since he’s had 1 eye that looks more red or slightly bloodshot than the other . It wasn’t like that before but it’s now been a couple of years , is that reason to be concerned or see a specific professional? He also seems to get a re- concuss or symptoms at THE SLIGHTEST bump. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.
